Dr. Moreau is no slouch in this department either. The sleaziness factor is off the charts in regards to Charles Laughton's performance. Even before the horrors truly begin, there is something deeply unsettling about him.

While Moreau's death at the hands of the Beast Men was well-deserved, by all appearances it was not particularly pleasant. Indeed, it is implied that the doctor himself was vivisected by his own creations.
