Nightmare Fuel / Immaculate

• The beginning of the film is especially intense and sets the tone for the rest of the film: a nun named Sister Mary tries to escape the covent but just as she managed to squeeze through the gate, she's caught by the nuns who proceed to 'break her ankle through the bars. Even worse, she is buried alive as punishment with her begging and sobbing continuing until the title card drops.
• When Sister Isabelle is distraught over not being chosen despite her pious years of service, she jumps out of a high window and hits the ground hard. When they find her, her face is mutilated beyond recognition.
• The twist of the film: Father Sal Tedeschi, Cardinal Merola, and the Mother Superior are in cahoots with each other conspiring to create a clone of Jesus by extracting DNA from an ancient nail used during Christ's crucifixion. They devise a conspiracy revolving around using the nuns as glorified baby factories with complete disregard for their bodily autonomy. However, each pregnancy ended in disaster with Tedeschi collecting the mutated fetuses and keeping them hidden in his secret laboratory.
• After she raises hell over the bizarre phenomenon regarding Sister Cecilia's "virgin birth" and Isabelle's suicide, Tedeschi and the others take Sister Gwen to a shed and cut her tongue out while torturing her.
• The ending. With the three conspirators dead, Cecilia goes into labor and conceives the baby. However, seeing that the baby was deformed, Cecilia becomes horrified and retrieves a heavy rock, lifts it, and slams it down on the newborn infant as the credits roll.
