In My Hero Academia, this includes pretty much nearly everyone from Class 1-A, and even the exceptions are jerks with hearts of gold:
Class 1-A
- The main protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, a.k.a Deku. Despite being born without a Quirk, Deku happens to be a kind and highly selfless guy at heart who is willing to risk his life to protect others. In fact, his personality and his selflessness is one of the reasons he caught attention from his favorite childhood hero, All-Might.
- Ochako Uraraka is a friendly and charming girl who is seen most of the time with a smile on her face. Her primary motivation is to be a good heroine to earn money to support her parents, but that doesn't prevent her from helping people in need whenever she can.
- Eijiro Kirishima is an easygoing guy who is so friendly and thick-skinned he even manages to be on decent terms with Bakugou of all people. Word of God himself describes him and his best friend Kaminari as the characters who bring the class together.
- Despite his initial behaviour towards Midoriya at the beginning of the series, Tenya Ida can be considered one as he helped his classmates several times:
- After their first battle, he's seen rubbing Uraraka's back as she tries not to puke from her Quirk.
- He also (mistakenly) assumes that Midoriya got into the academy because he figured out the hidden purpose of the exam, and apologizes for doubting his abilities.
- During the first stage of the Provisional License Exam, after Aoyama tries to sacrifice himself to help Ida pass, believing himself to be a liability to his classmates, Ida reassures him that he already is their equal.
- Though she can be rather blunt, Momo Yaoyorozu is a sweet, compassionate person and she happily invites her classmates for a study session at her manor and gives them what are clearly very expensive sweets and tea during their stay, eagerly helping them pass the written portion of their exams.
- Shoto Todoroki was largely antisocial at the start of series, but despite this, he was never really a Jerkass to anyone, just aloof and slightly arrogant. After the U.A. Sports Festival Arc and Remedial Course Arc, he begins to become more sociable, even gaining a sense of humor and occasionally smiling. He's also the one who snapped Ida out of his Heroic B So D when they were fighting Stain, by reminding Ida to not forget that he wants to be a hero. Shoto also gives Izuku some of his food during the Internship Arc when he notices the latter being upset.
- Lampshaded by Recovery Girl who calls him a softie, commenting on how considerate he was with Yaoyorozu on their exam.
- Brutal Honesty aside, Tsuyu Asui really is really a sweetheart who just has problems emoting properly.
- Fumikage Tokoyami may act reserved most of the time, but when he teams up with others, he becomes more sociable, helping his teammates out, reassuring his trust in them and thanking them for their efforts.
- Denki Kaminari is a friendly, upbeat, social and welcoming individual who deeply cares for his friends and allies and will do his best to help and protect them from harm. He is pretty much on good terms with everybody, even Bakugou to an extent.
- Hanta Sero is a friendly guy who gets along well with everyone in the Class 1-A. The Official Character Book gives him a 5/5 for cooperativeness.
- Mina Ashido is shown to be rather friendly. Exemplified in Kirishima's backstory, where she uses non-aggressive means to resolve conflicts, like using breakdancing to get bullies to leave their victim alone, and giving a villain false directions when he was harassing her friends. The only people she's shown hostility towards are Bakugo and Monoma.
- Mezo Shoji is very kind-hearted and level-headed most of the time, reassuring Tokoyami he holds no grudge against him after Dark Shadow goes on a rampage, and even rescuing him. He's also one of the few students that seems to tolerate Mineta.
- Mashirao Ojiro has been shown to be very sweet and humble, as he is a very caring and empathetic person when it comes to the emotions and well-being of other people.
- Toru Hagakure is a bubbly, cheery, and easygoing girl that does most things with an upbeat attitude.
- Rikido Sato is a pretty affable dude who's happy to bake for his classmates.
- Koji Koda may not speak much and be a Shrinking Violet, but his actions alone are enough to tell you he's clearly a good guy.
Class 1-B
- Itsuka Kendo is definitely one, being the Cool Big Sis for Class 1-B:
- In the entrance exam, she had the third highest rescue points behind Uraraka and Midoriya.
- She often calls Monoma out for his arrogance and taunting of Class 1-A.
- When she's given the opportunity to use a free pass to the one-on-one fights during the U.A. Sports Festival, she instead gives the opportunity to others she thinks are more deserving.
- Ibara Shiozaki is shown to be very kind and virtuous. As such, she's extremely sensitive about living up to a reverent existence, to the point that she becomes annoyed when Present Mic refers to her as an "assassin".
- Jurota Shishida is very polite and respectful, be it in his normal form or his beast form, as was brought up in a very well-mannered and doting family. This is deconstructed, as the ULTRA ANALYSIS Character Book reveals that due to being raised like this, he's unable to "throw away all reason" like his hero Hound Dog, which is something he wishes he could do.
- Manga Fukidashi is noted to be an incredibly positive guy who likes making children happy.
- Reiko Yanagi is implied to be one: after Midoriya loses control of his Quirk and Uraraka gets minor injuries when trying to help him regain control, despite Class 1-B continuing on with their attacks, the first thing she does is to ask if they're okay.
Other characters
- Mirio Togata: during the Internship Arc, when Midoriya asks him why he helped him so much, since they only just met, Togata mentions that he isn't being nice on purpose, just happened that it's within his instincts as a hero to help someone who needs. Very prominent in his friendship with Midoriya and Eri.
- Eri herself for that matter. Once she's recovered from what Overhaul did, she's a ray of sunshine.
- All Might, obviously. His warm heart is as big as his muscles, and he's as kind as he is powerful. To him, giving people hope, joy and kindness is just as important, if not more so, than smacking villains into the ground.
- Inko Midoriya is generally compassionate, hospitable, and polite. It's not hard to see where Izuku's kindness stems from.
