Genres are Not A Trope and don't go under the line

* JPop: They release a lot of Japanese versions for their songs, which is common practice for KPop groups. Not to the extent as, say, Music/{{Twice}} does, however; {{Justified|Trope}} as their connection to Japan isn't quite as strong as a group like Twice's. The latter has three Japanese members while Red Velvet has all-Korean members.

* LoveMakesYouDumb: "Dumb Dumb" is about details a narrator who wants to be normal, but when they're around the person they love everything just freezes up. In the words of the song itself, "I should just act like I do normally / But whenever I see you, I act so stupid".

* FoodSongsAreFunny: "Ice Cream Cake" adds a lot of references to ice cream.
** In general their discography is packed with songs that have in some way a correlation with food. "Sunny Side Up" is a reference to a way to cook eggs, "In & Out" is a nod to the fast food chain, "Cookie Jar" and "Milkshake" speak for themselves. You get the idea.
* GenreRoulette: One of their greatest strengths. Their ability to shift between bright, energetic Pop songs and a more calm, R&B or Jazz influenced style is what makes them emerge in the industry. The group's name conveys this.

* MissXPun: One of the songs on the ''Power Up'' EP is called "Mr. E". The song is about an eponymous man who is, as the name suggests, shrouded in much mystery, which draws in the narrator.

Funny how I noticed this Multiethnic Name entry shortly before the trope was killed by TRS and already felt it wasn't really noteworthy (especially as the members all use mononyms professionally like most other idols).

* MultiethnicName:
** Wendy Son is the English name of Son Seungwan.
** And if we want to count the stage names as well, there's Irene Bae and Joy Park.
** Yeri's English name is Katie Kim.

Seulgi making the top 20 in a Worlds Most Beautiful Woman list is kind of a stretch. Irene is already a stretch due to her not coming out on top of any list I know of (unlike Lisa, Tzuyu, or After School's Nana - three TC Candler winners), but direct invocations of WMBM by others are allowed (this appears to be the case with the Irene entry, though it's not being made obvious; I might amend this if I find more evidence of this being invoked).

** Seulgi has also been praised for her beauty, having appeared on TC Candler's annual "Top 100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World" every year since 2015, so far peaking at 20th place in 2018. This even ranks above Irene, whose highest position so far has been 41st.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: While not a group that actively promotes in Western-speaking countries, Wendy speaks English fluently due to growing up in Canada. Yeri, too, is fluent. Joy's English is improving constantly to the point of fluency, and Seulgi can speak it as well, though not as fluently as the others. Irene is pretty much the one who speaks it the least in the group, though she understands it well.
** SurprisinglyGoodForeignLanguage: Seulgi and Yeri speak Japanese.

RIP Bare Your Midriff. Entry may still be salvageable under Fanservice.

* BareYourMidriff: Some of their outfits reveal their midriffs. For example, Joy's outfit in "Bad Boy" reveals a lot of skin.
