Witch Enforcer is a 2023 Fantasy manga with art and story by Shun Akagi.

The manga, set in an Ambiguous Time Period, focuses on Natalia, a Witch Enforcer, and Elliot, her servant and assistant.

Elliot was a normal boy, up until a witch forced him into a familiar contract which would have horribly mutated his body, but Natalia intervened and saved him, in exchange, making him her familiar instead. In cooperation as she looks for the witch who was behind a string of these incidents leaving a trail of mutated people in her wake, Natalia does her job as an Enforcer responsible for solving incidents on Earth caused by the Witches.

Tropes

  • Accidental Murder: Nine killed her mother Miranda under the effects of a very dangerous and undiluted experimental drug, which caused her to freak out and try to push her away, but accidentally releasing her magic and killing her.
  • Ambiguous Time Period: Witches brought about immense technological advancement to humans. While the setting looks like Gaslamp Fantasy, things like broadcast television were already invented, so the timeline for the series is really anyone's guess.
  • Mage Species: In this series, witches are an alien race native to the moon, and who are born of a tree, when its fruits gather sufficient arcane power. They live for a long time and are capable of using magic, but in return, they seem to have a limited understanding and capacity for human emotions, though that may be a case of the way they are socialized.
  • The Mole: Byschotte is a cleaner sent as an enforcer to help Natalia, with orders to kill her and Elliot if they try to save Nine instead of killing her.
  • Personality Powers: Justified. According to the Witches' lore, The Great Tree imparts special, personal abilities to each witch in their eyes based on their characteristics.
  • Torso with a View: How Nine accidentally kills Miranda in the middle of her breakdown.
