Kitaro Birth: The Mystery of Gegege is an anime film taking place in the Ge Ge Geno Kitaro continuity, It was released in Japan in November 17, 2023.
- Adaptational Job Change: Mizuki works for a blood company in the original tale, only investigating Kitaro's parents when they're giving away their blood. In Kitaro Birth, Mizuki works for an agency investigating the Fantastic Drug M.
- Adaptational Nice Guy: While Mizuki eventually comes around (a little) in The Birth of Kitaro, the movie adaptation of the same story makes him friendly towards Kitaro and his family from the start, and with Daddy Eyeball in particular before his rot set in.
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Mizuki original appearance had him encounter the couple that would become Kitaro's parents close to the end of their lives, and he meets Kitaro himself at their grave. In the Kitaro Birth movie, Mizuki knows the parents in their pre-necrotic state, and due to Kitaro being born earlier than he was in the manga, he's on friendly terms with the boy.
