Himegoto - Juukyuusai No Seifuku by Ryou Minenami is a manga about a Dysfunction Junction of three different people: Kaito is a sly Bishōnen who enjoys dressing as a woman, Yuki is a bifauxnen tomboy who wishes she was girlier, and Mikako is an eighteen year old prostitute who likes pretending to be fifteen. The manga explores their relationships with each other, as well as with others.
The manga was serialized in Mobile Man for 100 chapters from 2010 to 2014, and compiled into eight volumes.
Not to be confused with Himegoto, which is a completely separate Otokonoko Genre manga.
This manga provides examples of:
- Ambiguous Gender Identity: Kaito initially seems like a Creepy Crossdresser, but he displays signs of gender dysphoria, such as being uncomfortable with his masculinizing body and wanting Yuki to see and enjoy her relationship with him while acknkowledging him as a woman. By the end of the story, he is crossdressing pretty much full time.
- Blame the Paramour: Mikako's mother held a grudge towards the girl for a very long time, thinking that when she was caught being raped by her lover/Mikako's stepfather, the girl's eerie smile meant she enjoyed the act and was mocking her. Mikako violently sets her straight."How could I? I was a child."
- Chick Magnet: Kaito attracts a lot of women, especially older women.
- Coming of Age Story: The manga is about young adults as they develop into adulthood.
- Pass Fail: Kaito notes that it's becoming more difficult to pass as female as time goes by.
- Rape as Backstory: Mikako was sexually abused by her stepfather.
- Tomboy Angst: Yuki hates how tomboyish she is and wishes she was girlier, but she's insecure and doesn't know how.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Mikako began prostituting with men at age fifteen.
