Firefly Wedding (ホタルの嫁入り, Hotaru no Yomeiri) is an ongoing Josei historical romance manga written and illustrated by Oreco Tachibana. It began publication in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website and the Manga ONE app on January 23, 2023.

In the Meiji era, Satoko Kirigaya is a young woman blessed with high intelligence and extraordinary beauty. However, the values of the times deem her only fit for marriage to a wealthy suitor, a fate only exacerbated by her family considering her unfit for anything else due to her frail body and bad heart, which ironically only turn away most men. Despite this, Satoko continues pursuing the future that will make her father and family happy... which is interrupted when Satoko is kidnapped. When a lowly assassin interrupts the hostage situation, Satoko does the only thing she can do to guarantee her safety: offer her hand in marriage to him.

Following is a series of escapades Satoko and her rescuer/fiancee endure to try and get Satoko back home, all the while juggling developing feelings, the dangers of an unfamiliar island, and Shinpei's unorthodox but earnestly genuine expressions of love towards his bride-to-be.

  • Action Survivor: Satoko is a sheltered girl with a frail constitution but when push comes to shove, she remains level-headed, resourceful and determined to survive no matter what.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Shinpei falls for Satoko the moment she proves she's willing to marry him, citing the reason being she's the only girl who didn't push him away despite his violent nature.
  • Betty and Veronica: Gender inverted, with Satoko being the Archie to Koutarou's protective and responsible Betty, and Shinpei's wild and possessive Veronica.
  • In Vino Veritas: The police chief's son is a meek but kind man who offers to marry Satoko and take her away from the island just by seeing her beauty, no strings attached. However, he passes out the moment he gets a sip of sake, causing him to become a perverted, spoiled lech. Played With, however, in that afterwards he's genuinely horrified at what he's done and rushes to the Kirigaya estate to try inform Satoko's father about her whereabouts in retribution.
  • Letting Her Hair Down: Satoko is introduced with her hair gathered in an elegant braided bun. However, as the story unfolds, her hair is left to flow freely or tied in a simpler braid/ponytail.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Satoko may be Delicate and Sickly but she is not a doormat.
  • Yandere: Shinpei loves Satoko earnestly and wholeheartedly, but shows nothing but malice and violent intent towards other men who approach her, especially Koutarou.
