* ''Jew Suss'', a 1925 novel by Lion Feuchtwanger, is most widely known for [[Film/JewSuss1940 its infamous 1940 Nazi adaptation]], which is widely considered one of the most anti-Semitic films of the Nazi era. But what many people don't know is that the novel received a [[Film/JewSuss1934 far more faithful 1934 film adaptation in Britain]] that actually condemned anti-Semitism.

** About the plot/characters, Alia Atreides from the Lynch film is closer to her book counterpart than the Villeneuve one in that she's been born (with a rapidly maturing mind in a child's body) by the time of the FinalBattle against the Harkonnens and TheEmperor while the Villeneuve version has yet to be born by this point.
** The Creator/DavidLynch movie itself is ''far'' more accurate than the [[WhatCouldHaveBeen cancelled]] Creator/AlejandroJodorowsky movie would have been, as Jodorowsky started writing the script ''before'' he read the book based on his own vision of how a friend described it and then decided to stick to it once he did get around to reading it.
** The 2000 ''Series/FrankHerbertsDune'' miniseries took some liberties with [[Literature/{{Dune}} Frank Herbert's book]], but compared to the [[Film/Dune1984 1984 David Lynch movie]] and the [[Film/Dune2021 2021 Dennis]] [[Film/DunePartTwo Villeneuve movies]], its fidelity is nigh-slavish.

** ''WesternAnimation/AChristmasCarol2009'' is also very accurate, retaining many scenes and even lines from the novella, keeping Ignorance and Want, and having the appearance of the three ghosts be accurate to how they were described in the original story.

* The 2000 ''Series/FrankHerbertsDune'' miniseries took some liberties with [[Literature/{{Dune}} Frank Herbert's book]], but compared to the [[Film/Dune1984 1984 David Lynch movie]], its fidelity is nigh-slavish.

* Franchise/{{Godzilla}}
** ''WesternAnimation/GodzillaTheSeries'' is closer to [[Franchise/{{Godzilla}} the original Japanese films]] than the film it spun off from (''Film/Godzilla1998''). Godzilla [[BehemothBattle fights other monsters]] and has his trademark atomic BreathWeapon
** ''Film/Godzilla2014'' is much more faithful to [[Franchise/{{Godzilla}} the original Japanese films]] than the first American remake of the franchise, ''Film/Godzilla1998''. More so the creature's design than the movie itself, as TheRemake is more in line with a Creator/ChristopherNolan movie than [[UnbuiltTrope the sci-fi horror]] of Film/Godzilla1954. Though much like the Showa Era, later movies in the Franchise/MonsterVerse such as Film/GodzillaVsKong would take a more campy direction after the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse [[FollowTheLeader became the ideal action blockbuster]]. Regardless, both are exactly what American Kaiju fans and mainstream audiences wanted to see. So much so, [[Film/ShinGodzilla later]] [[Anime/GodzillaPlanetOfTheMonsters Japanese designs]] borrowed heavily from this one.
* [[Film/KingKong2005 The Peter Jackson adaptation of King Kong]] is a lot closer to [[Film/KingKong1933 the 1933 movie]] than the preceding [[Film/KingKong1976 Dino De Laurentiis remake]] (which removed the dinosaurs, shifted the setting to the then-present day, and heavily altered the human characters, among other changes), right down to setting the movie ''in'' 1933. The Jackson version goes so far as adapting the "Spider Pit" sequence, a notorious DeletedScene from the original film.

** The Creator/DenisVilleneuve [[Film/Dune2021 film]] [[Film/DunePartTwo adaptation]] fully embraces the WellIntendedExtremist / DarkMessiah Paul Atreides becomes, which is how Creator/FrankHerbert wrote him. The Creator/DavidLynch [[Film/Dune1984 film]], by comparison, did not go that route.

* The [[Creator/ToeiAnimation Toei]] anime adaptation of ''Theatre/SwanLake'', ''Anime/SwanLake1981'', is an unintentional version because it preceded the [[WesternAnimation/TheSwanPrincess two]] [[WesternAnimation/BarbieOfSwanLake other]] animated film adaptations, but it's by far the most faithful to the original ballet out of the three. Siegfried's name remains Siegfried, Odette was cursed to be a swan by Rothbart prior to the story, and Rothbart turns into an owl instead of a bat-like creature or vulture.
