Les Soeurs Jalouses de leur Cadette (a.k.a, "The Story of the Two Sisters Who Were Jealous of Their Younger Sister", or Parizade; author is Syrian Maronite)note Hanna Diyab to Antoine Galland, who included it in The Arabian Nights. The tale was provided by Diyab in the early-18th century, but there are at least three similar European tales published earlier: Ancilotto, Re di Provino (Straparola, 1550s), L'Oiseau de Vérité (Eustache Le Noble, 1700 or 1722), and Princesse Belle-Étoile (Madame d'Aulnoy, 1698).
