* ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'' has a particularly egregious example. In one mission, Bayleth is lured into an obvious trap. But, for the trap to work, they need to stand on a very large, very visible alter on one part of the map. The mission can be completed without anyone setting foot on the alter. But, regardless of how one plays the battle, the main character will [[CutsceneIncompetence run to the center of the alter and get caught regardless]]. Bayleth is tilted during this fight, so this is forgivable the first time. But, They have the ability to rewind time and do it again. And, according to the story, they retain their knowledge when they do this. If Bayleth chooses to do this, they will still run to the center of the alter when it's time for the trap to go off. They will do this even though they know how the trap works, knows they have to stand on the alter for it to work, knows that they'll be caught if they fall for it, and knows that [[spoiler: a HeroicSacrifice will be required to leave it.]] Even worse? The main character can do this multiple times, and they'll fall for it [[TooDumbToLive Every. Single. Time]].
