* In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'', there is a climatic cutscene after Cloud hands over the Black Materia to Sephiroth (the key to destroying the world) where everything falls into chaos - the rest of the team are forced to escape on the Highwind airship, and the Weapons - world protecting Kaiju - burst out of the earth. This is all played very dramatically, until one of the Weapons flies away and it nearly destroys the Highwind as it passes - but the camera focuses on [[MsFanservice Tifa]] with an out of nowhere fanservice shot of her chest as the focus of the frame as she's knocked over by the blast, none of which is helped by the fact that her cutscene model has far more exaggerated proportions than her in-game battle model. (The cutscene was also supposed to communicate that she got hurt badly enough to be out cold for around a week, which looks like a massive overreaction to having fallen over.)

* At one point in ''VideoGame/HeavyRain'', there's an optional sex scene between Ethan and Madison because [[VideoGame/{{Fahrenheit}} awkward, pointless sex is Quantic Dream's favorite thing]]. There's a technicolor rainbow of reasons it's more repulsive than erotic, but for starters: [[spoiler:he's been brutally injured, he's worried sick for his son who he knows has a limited amount of time left to live, he's suffering from a burgeoning case of SanitySlippage and readily admits he could be a serial killer, she's either only sleeping with him to get the story on him if he ''is'' the serial killer he thinks he is, or she's fallen in love with him after being around him for a grand total of four hours or so]], and on top of all that, it's an awkwardly-framed quick-time event that [[MostWritersAreMale casts the player as Ethan]], so you get to undress Madison in the [[MaleGaze most uncomfortable way possible]].

This sequence can also veer even more into the ridiculous if the player messes instead of following the QTEs properly, something WebVideo/Caddicarus noted when he ranked the Heavy Rain sex scene #1 on his list [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN0qIlWo4Vg Top 10 Moments in Video Gaming I Couldn't Take Seriously!]]

* ''Better Late Than Never'', a well-known pornographic fan comic based on ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda'', has gotten this reaction from quite a number of readers. While the artwork is generally agreed to be phenomenal, the comic is infamous for its [[EndingFatigue frustratingly long]] and [[{{Narm}} over-the-top]] KudzuPlot that occasionally diverges from its source material, which a lot of readers feel ruin the atmosphere. Scenes of [[{{Gorn}} gory violence]], AttemptedRape, and [[SexStartsStoryStops gratuitous sex]] have only added to the criticism.

Natter, this is an opinionated example that reads as prudish.

'''''Any''''' attempt to introduce actual rules for sexual acts in roleplaying games falls under this, chiefly due to the sheer awkwardness of roleplaying sexual encounters with close friends.

* Marian, the DamselInDistress in most of the ''VideoGame/DoubleDragon'' games, who is usually a good-looking woman ([[http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/a/doubled.htm as seen in the original arcade game]] and [[http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/nes/a/dd2.htm the second NES game]]), got whacked with the ugly stick in the UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis [[PortingDisaster port]] by Accolade. The panty shots were still kept for the Genesis version, but they end up being more disturbing than sexy because of the way she looks. ([[http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/genesis/a/dd.htm See here.]])

* During the UsefulNotes/{{Atari 2600}} era, a company called Mystique thought it would be a good idea to make erotic video games for the system. ** In ''Custer's Revenge'', your goal is to make [[UsefulNotes/{{TheSeventhCavalry}} Custer]], depicted as a man wearing nothing but a cavalry hat, boots, and a bandanna while sporting a visible erection, dodge falling arrows and randomly appearing cacti in order to reach the other side of the screen and ''rape a naked, well-endowed Native American woman, who is bound to a post'' (though the game's designer insists it's consensual). If that weren't bad enough, it's an UsefulNotes/Atari2600 game and the graphics look about as good as you'd expect. The ''WebVideo/AngryVideoGameNerd'' said it the best when he had to review these, the poor bastard:

* The Great Fairies in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'' and ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Majora's Mask]]'' are ''supposed'' to be gorgeous {{Statuesque Stunner}}s wearing nothing but make-up and a collection of leaves. But due to the primative UsefulNotes/Nintendo64 graphics, the make-up on that blocky face looks almost monstrous, and the leaves can easily be mistaken for ''rotting skin''. Combine this with that ''screaming'' laughter as she appears, and what was supposed to be a calming encounter became shockingly creepy. It's not much better even with the improved graphics of the UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS remakes.

* Creator/DrSeuss's one [[BleachedUnderpants foray into "adult" literature]] was the illustrated novel ''The Seven Lady Godivas''. It was intended to be racy, as all the main characters are nude women. The problem, as Seuss himself admitted later, was that all the characters were nude women ''as drawn by Dr. Seuss.'' As you'd expect, nobody at all found it sexy and the book was a complete flop.

* The video for Music/AlanisMorissette's ''[[https://youtu.be/OOgpT5rEKIU Thank U]]'' provides a similar example: Morissette's hair neatly draped to hide her breasts is one thing but the way her genital area is blurred out actually has a fair bit of horror potential. If the blur effect had just been made a tiny bit more conspicuous, the entire un-sexy effect could've been avoided altogether.
