** Though Araki likes Avdol just fine and agrees with the consensus of readers [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter that he deserved more time in the spotlight]], he thinks Magician's Red was a mistake. By his own account, he found its [[PlayingWithFire fire-based abilities]] to be a pain to draw, but also felt they didn't offer a lot of possibilities for fights aside from "can burn things." He claims that the whole experience put him off the idea of fire-based Stands altogether, and true to form, there hasn't been one since.

** Editor Mark Gruenwald rather infamously disliked that Creator/RogerStern made Monica Rambeau, then known as [[Characters/MarvelComicsMarvels Captain Marvel]] (a character Stern had created during his time writing ''ComicBook/TheAmazingSpiderMan1963'', whose arc in ''Avengers'' followed her growth from rookie to veteran), the team leader of ComicBook/TheAvengers over the established Captain America, whose book Gruenwald was writing at the time. He pushed Stern to reverse the decision, and although Stern was prepared to do it, he pushed back against the UnfortunateImplications of Gruenwald's instructions that Monica had to be shown screwing up as leader and then acknowledging Cap as a better choice to lead the team, and Gruenwald responded [[https://web.archive.org/web/20040516190215/http://www.geocities.com/mh_prime/8802.html by having Stern removed from the book]]. Much later on, under the same editor, she was also stripped of the title Captain Marvel, with Rambeau "willingly" giving the title to Mar-Vell's biological son Genis-Vell.

* ''VideoGame/DontStarve'': This is the reason why Warbucks was removed. The dev team realized that his character design could cause some UnfortunateImplications and were not happy with his gimmicks[[note]]He gained sanity when he has money in his inventory (which only applies to Hamlet mode), but lost sanity if he ate food that didn't come from a crock pot[[/note]], and realized he wasn't that interesting after all. He was replaced by Wormwood, a living plant who as a concept is more unique.

* Dana Terrace, creator of ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'', has a stated dislike for writing [[Characters/TheOwlHouseEmperorBelos Emperor Belos]], the show's main antagonist: not due to him being poorly written, but more because his character, to her, [[HateSink comes off as particularly detestable and repellent]] due to invoking a lot of real-world prejudices. This may have been why [[spoiler:his ultimate fate, being stomped on while he was ''already'' dying]], is so comically mean-spirited.

* ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'': Creator/CraigBartlett admits that in the latter seasons, Arnold did indeed become too "perfect", and had less stories focused on him than before. He also didn't like Miss Slovak, feeling she was a boring character, which is why Mr. Simmons replaced her as Arnold's teacher in the second season.

* ''Franchise/ResidentEvil'''s co-creator Creator/ShinjiMikami was quite clear in how little he liked Rebecca Chambers compared to the other female characters in his games due to her demure nature. Mikami only put her in the [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil first game]] due his staff (who liked Rebecca's character) urging him to. He fully explained his dislike for Rebecca in a 2014 interview for ''VideoGame/TheEvilWithin''.

** Creator/TomKing also heavily implied that [=DiDio=] was the one who pushed for not only Dick Grayson's controversial amnesia storyline in ''ComicBook/BatmanTomKing'', but also Wally West's [[FaceHeelTurn antagonistic role]] in ''ComicBook/HeroesInCrisis'', which was heavily lambasted as a hamfisted attempt to bury the character to the extent that both ''ComicBook/TheFlashRebirth'' and ''ComicBook/TheFlashInfiniteFrontier'' went out of their way to absolve Wally of any wrongdoing. ''ComicBook/DCFutureState'''s portrayal of a possessed Wally has also been widely linked to when he was heavily involved with its earlier draft, ''5G'', prior to his departure from the company.

* Just to show how reviled [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Shou Tucker]] is both [[HatedByAll in-universe]] and [[HateSink out]], even Hiromu Arakawa hates him. This is best showcased in the In Memoriam omakes where Shou is the only character burning in hell whereas even clearly sadistic villains like Envy, Solf J. Kimblee and Barry the Chopper are going to heaven.

* ''Series/VeronicaMars'': Series creator Rob Thomas grew to dislike Sheriff Lamb, largely due to the DracoInLeatherPants attention he was getting, and fans petitioning to get him more screen time. [[spoiler: He responded by killing Lamb off in the third season]]
