[[LoveTropes Romantic relationships]], {{sex|Tropes}}, and romantic and sexual attraction are staples of fiction, and unless you're dealing with {{asexual|ity}} characters or a NoHuggingNoKissing setting characters will express at least some desire for it. The vast majority of the time male characters are attracted to women and female characters are attracted to men, there are some [[QueerAsTropes gay and lesbian characters]], and very rarely you'll get a {{bi|TheWay}}sexual character (unless it's a QueerRomance, where naturally the last two categories are more common), but others aren't so definite. Sometimes there's a male/female character who doesn't express interest in women/men but does seems to show interest in people the same gender as them; they're AmbiguouslyGay. Then there are characters that seemingly show romantic and/or sexual interest in people of multiple genders; they're Ambiguously Bi.

Most of the time this character's interest in people of a different gender to them is explicitly stated or written to be obvious, while their interest in people the same gender as them is subtle or downplayed, but the inverse does exist. Characters with a {{Heterosexual Life Partner|s}} are especially prone to this, as while they might have an actual love interest of a different gender the relationship with their HLP often has a romantic/sexual element as well. GettingCrapPastTheRadar can be a reason for this trope, the writers wanting to include hints a character is gay or bi but with enough heterosexuality to appease the MoralGuardians.

It should be noted that what makes a character Ambiguously Bi, and what differentiates them from BiTheWay characters, is largely a matter of opinion. As the latter page demonstrates the B word doesn’t have to outright be said to make a character qualify, and as NoBisexuals demonstrates even if a character is clearly bisexual to the audience much of the time the writers don’t consider it as a possibility. Obviously some form of attraction to people of different genders is required, but the exact extent varies; to some people an offhand comment or a prolonged glance can be enough, for others nothing short of onscreen sex can suggest bisexuality as a possibility. Characters who express IfItsYouItsOkay further muddle the issue, as by definition that makes a character bisexual, but there ''are'' otherwise straight, gay, and lesbian people in real life who do have exceptions to the "rule" of their sexuality.

Compare/Contrast AmbiguouslyGay, BiTheWay, and DepravedBisexual.

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* In ''Anime/AngelBeats'', Hinata often tells Otonashi he likes him (it's used as a joke, maybe). Later, he tells Yui he likes her and would marry her if they met when they were still alive.
* Rosiel of ''Manga/AngelSanctuary''. NoSenseOfPersonalSpace in a CastFullOfPrettyBoys? Yes. Combine with [[FashionVictimVillain the outfits]] and dilute with NoSexAllowed [[CrapsaccharineWorld In Heaven]]? ''Oh yes''.
* A few characters in ''Manga/AxisPowersHetalia'' are this. Most of the rest are AmbiguouslyGay or [[BiTheWay outright bisexual]].
* Graham Spectre from ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}'' tends to come off like this. His utterly massive man-crush on Ladd Russo, his [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace complete disregard for the personal space]] for pretty much every male he comes in contact with, offhand comments about other men's attractiveness ("Firo, or whatever his name was… Who could have expected such a cute face to ever be capable of such [[{{Fingore}} horrifying cruelty?]]"), and ''then'' there's that thing he seems to have for Jacuzzi ("Should I let this woman go in deference to you locking up my heart?"), which peaks when he waltzes up to Jacuzzi entirely unprovoked and declares "I like you", [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/justmakeoutalready.jpg while cocking his head as if he were about to kiss him]] before telling him he has free access to his warehouse and wandering off. But he also expresses some interest in Chane, claims that he [[LikesOlderWomen likes older woman]], and he [[AllThereInTheManual supposedly]] has a thing for [[BrotherSisterIncest his own sister]]. He's [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} a]] [[AxCrazy total]] [[TalkativeLoon nut]], so who knows.
* Suruga of ''LightNovel/{{Bakemonogatari}}''. Despite declaring herself a lesbian, she seems to have a number of lewd ideas involving Koyomi.
* Griffith of ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'', at least before the Eclipse where he probably doesn't concern himself with sexuality or romance anymore. Even though we know that Griffith [[spoiler:screwed Princess Charlotte just to make himself feel better after Guts left]], he might very well have had some unrequited feelings for both Guts ''and'' Casca, judging from how a) he was a complete {{Yandere}} when it came to Guts, b) before activating his crimson behelit a la DespairEventHorizon, Griffith did have a vision of [[spoiler:he and Casca sharing a quiet, peaceful life together, [[BabiesEverAfter child and all]]]], and c) he gave Guts and Casca the KubrickStare when it was evident that they had become a couple.
* ''Manga/BlackButler'':
** Viscount Druitt takes a liking to the maid Hannah and plenty of pretty ladies, but also appears to flirt with Ciel both when he's DisguisedInDrag and when he's dressed normally as a boy.
** Sebastian did have sex with Matilda and it is heavily implied that he did the same with Beast, and also has a ton of HoYay with Ciel and other males.
* ''Anime/{{Gankutsuou}}'':
** Albert has a romantic relationship with Eugenie, and it's heavily implied that they get married at the end of the series, but he also has a LOT of HoYay with the Count, to the point that the only reason he qualifies for this trope and not outright BiTheWay is because it's never confirmed that he's in love with the Count.
** Milly Ashford from ''CodeGeass'' is hinted to have feelings for both Shirley and Lelouch.
* ''Manga/DeathNote'':
** Strong hints abound that Touta Matsuda is this, if not just outright gay - though he does seem attracted to Light's sister Sayu in the second half of the series. He is known to be quite "fond" of Light, following him in a manner that could easily be indicative of a crush. His actions near the end as [[spoiler:he shoots Light and screams at him]] almost look like the reaction of a lover learning the truth about his significant other. And then there's his throwing an arm around a blushing male coworker...
** Sayu, whose interest seems to be primarily in women; she happily flips through the PornStash she finds in her brother's room, states that Misa is "her type", and says she has no interest in dating men. However, she also mentions having a crush on a male celebrity.
** L is definitely sexually attracted to Misa (even though he says he finds her annoying), but he has enough HoYay[=/=]FoeRomanceSubtext with Light to power a small village. L also has NoSocialSkills, so his tendency to stare creepily at/obsess over men and women might just be him being weird.
* Lavi of ''Manga/DGrayMan'' goes nuts whenever he sees a pretty girl but he also seemingly has considerable HoYay towards Allen and Kanda.
* ''Manga/DNAngel'': It's hinted that Satoshi Hiwatari may have feelings for Risa, and in the anime it's hinted that he may have romantic feelings for Daisuke. When this is brought up, he doesn't openly confess to anything, though he never denies the accusations either. If anything, he encourages the idea, which has led to the source of much confusion regarding his motives. It has been stated outright by Dark that Daisuke is the one who causes Satoshi to turn into Krad. Krad himself has hinted at Satoshi possibly wanting more than a friendship from Daisuke at least once in the anime, and more than twice in the manga. In any case, he at least wants to be close to Daisuke despite the danger of Krad to both of them.
* ''Manga/FruitsBasket'':
** Ayame is in love with Mine Kuramae but has no trouble flirting with Shigure (though for the most part it isn't serious and it's treated as an inside joke by both of them). Apparently, when he was Student Council President he claimed that if needed, he'd give himself to both men and women alike.
** Hatsuharu stated early on that Yuki was his first love. While the other characters have mixed reactions and Haru still teases Yuki a bit, he seems to take it quite seriously. However, the only other person he shows interest in for the rest of the story (and as far as we know, his entire life) is Rin. Haru's closer to {{BiTheWay}} territory, but his deadpan sense of humor when referencing his crush is enough to tip him into the ambiguous category. The other characters find it hard to tell when he's joking or not.
* Hinako of ''LightNovel/GoshuushouSamaNinomiyaKun''. On the one hand she seems to like, whether jokingly or not, to flirt with and harass Shungo but also appears to like to SkinshipGrope Mayu (whether or not its out of genuine interest or because Mayu is a succubus is never made clear).
* Ippo Makunouchi of ''Manga/HajimeNoIppo'' has got a quite sweet crush on Kumi Mashiba and she more or less reciprocates, but his attitude towards his very handsome rival Ichiro Miyata is so tinted with HoYay that his friends don't hesitate to say he's "gay for Miyata". And there's his also very good-looking Russian friend Volg.
* ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'':
** Itsuki Koizumi seems to like [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace invading the main male character's personal space a little too much]] in the anime, and in the novels especially he makes it quite clear that he trusts and likes Kyon. He claims to act the way he does because Haruhi expects it and would make it real if he didn't, which would be a plausible explanation if he actually did do so while Haruhi is watching. In the 4th novel [[spoiler:his alternate universe self admits to having a crush on Haruhi]], but this isn't brought up in the main storyline - although many of his actions and words towards Haruhi, especially his constant claiming of being "the expert of her heart" imply some secret affection for her. Whatever the case may be, Itsuki's bond with Kyon could be seen as a fumbled attempt at a bromance or an actual romance slowly developing.
** Haruhi Suzumiya herself. She makes it very clear right from the start that she doesn't care about the gender of the one she is with, as long as he or she is not an ordinary human being. She doesn't seem to have been dating girls though, but perhaps that was simply because only guys confessed to her. Kyon is the only person she's shown any real interest in, but also likes to SkinshipGrope Mikuru (whether its out of genuine interest or not remains to be seen).
* ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'':
** Gokudera has considerable HoYay towards Tsuna (though its not clear if its really love or just UndyingLoyalty). He also blushed and had a nosebleed upon seeing Lal Mirch (a beautiful woman) naked.
** Mukuro has subtext with Tsuna, Hibari, and Chrome.
* ''LightNovel/KyoKaraMaoh'':
** Sara flirts with everyone and both the girls and the [[EvenTheGuysWantHim guys]] want him.
** Conrad is implied pretty heavily as having been in love with Julia when she was alive, but he also has a lot of [[HoYay homoerotic subtext]] with both Yuuri and Josak. [[spoiler: Doesn't help that Yuuri is Julia reincarnated]].
* ''Manga/LoveHina'': Kaolla Su is among those attracted to Keitaro, but she also [[SacredFirstKiss stole Shinobu's first kiss]].
* Sheryl Nome of ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'', [[LoveInterest definitely into guys]], takes a seemingly random interest in Ranka when they first meet (and stares at her QUITE a bit), and makes an off-hand remark about Nanase's voluptuousness (which Nanase then calls her out to stop staring at her with those "lecherous eyes"). She also has a habit of creating multiple holographic versions of herself on stage in the movies, which she uses to french kiss ''[[ScrewYourself herself]]''; the second movie takes this one step further with the holographic Other-Sheryl [[GenderBender appearing to be a guy]]. And the one guy she has an interest in suffers from DudeLooksLikeALady.
* Vincent of ''Manga/PandoraHearts'' seems to like Ada but he also is obsessed with and loves his older brother Gil. What kind of love is up for debate.
* Yuujirou of ''Manga/PrincessPrincess'' is shown to have an interest in girls but may or may not also have feelings for Tooru.
* A lot of characters in ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena'', like Utena herself, Wakaba, and Akio.
* In ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'', young Yukari announces to her classmates that she's fallen in love with both Moka and Tsukune, but it's not clear if she herself fully understands the implications of that statement.
* Minto from ''Manga/TokyoMewMew'' has a hero-worship for Zakuro that definitely verges into LesYay at times (she confesses her love at one point, though in context it's ambiguous what kind of love she was talking about), but also shows interest in guys and when Ichigo asked the other Mews what they considered attractive, she pictured a male dancer.
* ''Manga/BetrayalKnowsMyName'' has Luka. He was Yuki's lover when Yuki was a girl but now also seems to still have feelings for Yuki now that he's been reincarnated as a boy.
* ''LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero'':
** Julio is canonically in love with Louise, but may or may not also have an interest in her boyfriend Saito as shown when he tells Saito whether jokingly or not that he loves him and wants to kiss him as well as Louise. His supposed attraction to Saito is only mentioned twice though.
** Kirche is very fond of both Saito and Colbert, and she seems to like Louise and Tabitha as well.
* Shinji Ikari of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' is shown to be attracted to both Rei and Asuka, and has UnresolvedSexualTension with his guardian Misato, but also has ''much'' HoYay with Kaworu and became closer to him than he did anyone else. His sexuality is never definitively stated, though given that this is ''Evangelion'' "screwed up" is always an option.
* Fate from ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'' is heavily implied to have been in love with [[spoiler:Luna's older sister]], and then later outright states that he [[spoiler:has a crush on Negi.]]
* Sumire from ''Manga/VenusVersusVirus'' has a very intense bond with her friend Lucia, who is later confirmed in the manga to be in love with her, but also has a very important male love interest. The manga's end is rather ambiguous whether Sumire likes Lucia back or whether it's a one-sided love affair.
* Several characters ''Manga/WanderingSon''. Mako seems predominantly attracted to guys but has a crush on her trans female friend Nitori at one point, though due to the later still being living as male she sees her as a boy. Momoko has a RomanticTwoGirlFriendship with her best friend but has been teased for liking a former male classmate.
* Minamo from ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh''. She has a rather LesYay filled relationship with her friend Yukari, and Yukari mentions [[NoodleIncident a love letter in the past]] (the manga confirms they went to an all-girls school, so unless she fell for a male teacher or a boy outside of school it's probable she gave a girl the letter). Still she talks about dating men and has been implied to have had sex with them.
* Most likely Jeremy and definitely Ian from ''Manga/ACruelGodReigns'', although theirs may be more a case of IfItsYouItsOkay. Also hinted at with Jeremy's roommate William.
* Reiner Braun from ''Manga/AttackOnTitan''. He claims to be gay in one conversation, but has been known to express the desire to marry [[DudeMagnet Krista]] whenever she's kind to him, and has stated his [[DeclarationOfProtection intentions]] to protect her. [[spoiler:He's also shown to be suffering from [[BecomingTheMask identity]] problems, and is a spy and confirmed liar]], as such it's unclear whether he's genuinely gay, bisexual, or just messing with everyone.
* Several of the boys in ''Manga/BigWindup'' have expressed very explicit interest in girls but they have a lot HoYay between each other.
* Sayaka Miki of ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' explicitly has a crush on her [[ChildhoodFriendRomance childhood friend]] Kyosuke Kamijou. However, there is a bit of [[LesYay subtext]] pairing her with Kyoko Sakura. While in the main series proper it seems one-sided on Kyoko's part, there has been a fair amount of ShipTease in SpinOff material (including some confirmation that [[http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Sayaka_kyouko_spinoff.jpg the]] [[http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Kyoko_sayaka_more_spinoff_ova.jpg staff]] [[http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Sayaka_kyouko_pocky_game_Nitroplus.jpg ships it]]) that suggests at least a possibility of reciprocation. And with the release of ''[[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheMovieRebellion Rebellion]]'', the two are living in the same house, hold hands, [[BashBrothers fight together]], and enjoy teasing each other.
* Tome from ''Manga/TheDaughterOfTwentyFaces''. The finale hints that she may have something going on with a male detective character, but a much earlier episode seemed to insinuate that she's attracted to women. After hearing Tome say that she used to play flirty games with other girls when she was a teen, Chiko and Shunka wonder aloud [[SchoolgirlLesbians what that means]].
* ''Manga/SailorMoon'':
** Michiru Kaioh from the manga version is in a clear relationship with Haruka, but she's also seen flirting with Mamoru and providing some ShipTease.
** Usagi Tsukino has the whole "destined lovers" thing with Mamoru, but is also clearly attracted to other women. She followed Rei home the first time she saw her because she was entranced with her beauty, [[WingdingEyes hearts in her eyes]] the entire time, and goes along with Haruka's flirting even after learning she's a woman.
* When Kyou and Nagisa meet in ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' Kyou thinks it's a love confession. She ''accepts'' before noticing it wasn't that.
* Sai in ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', what with his {{Bishonen}} appearance, midriff bearing top, HoYay with Naruto, and (fan exaggerated) tendency towards penis jokes. He also called Ino "gorgeous" once, [[spoiler:and in the finale they are married and have a son.]]
* Yuu Kashima from ''Manga/GekkanShoujoNozakiKun'' is a {{Bifauxnen}} who's very popular with girls for her handsome looks. She definitely enjoys flirting with girls, and is seen going on dates with them (although those are always ''group'' dates). At the same time she has a lot of ShipTease with her male upperclassman Hori, always trying to do things she thinks will make him happy and worrying whenever she thinks he doesn't like her.
* Tomoko Kuroki, the main character of ''Manga/NoMatterHowILookAtItItsYouGuysFaultImNotPopular'', has a habit of sexually harassing her best friend Yuu, and on several occasions revealed a deep lust for her. She once peeked at a strangers panties and was later seen enjoying the memory. That said she is constantly trying to come up with schemes to get laid by men, including her own ''brother''. She also has a deep love for the BastardBoyfriend character trope. She did however entertain the idea of becoming a lesbian when she thought it might be easier to get laid with women. During that time she reflects on her relationship with Yuu as something totally normal. As the manga goes on Tomoko starts to move into AnythingThatMoves territory, probably because it's made clear that she DesperatelyCravesAffection.
* Lucy from ''Manga/FairyTail'' certainly enjoys pinups of Mirajane, and is awfully... impressed by Erza, yet she's also shown attraction to Leo, and has a decent amount of ShipTease with both Natsu and Gray.
* Zagi Fenrir of ''Manga/JyuOhSei''. His relationship with Karim is [[MasochismTango complicated]], but definitely of a romantic nature. And his attraction to [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Thor]] is so blatantly obvious that Karim gets ''jealous''.

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHercules Hercules]] was implied to have had relations with a large number of women and Northstar. A RunningGag is Amadeus Cho repeatedly denying that he has the same relationship with Herc as Iolaus did. In the ''X-Treme X-Men'' alternate universe, he's explicitly shown to be in a relationship with Wolverine, making both characters a little less ambiguous.
* SelfDemonstrating/{{Deadpool}}. Plenty of attraction to girls, but also flirts with guys constantly, and his canon attraction with Comicbook/{{Cable}}. He has the "faintly hysterical overreaction to being called gay" thing down pretty well, too, and the less said about the crossdressing the better. Cable himself comes from a gender-ambiguous future and so may not recognize present-day sexual norms anyway, and people frequently comment on his [[OddCouple unlikely]] affection for Deadpool. WordOfGod described Deadpool as 'omnisexual', making the 'ambiguously' part somewhat less ambiguous.
* Franchise/WonderWoman, with more or less subtlety DependingOnTheWriter. After all, she grew up in a LadyLand called Paradise Island.
* ComicBook/BlackCanary, especially under Creator/GailSimone's pen. At one point she was going to quip that she was "75% heterosexual" thus making her BiTheWay, but placeholder dialog confusion turned it into "heterosexual to the bone". And when she believes she's going to have to fight a DuelToTheDeath she tells ComicBook/{{Huntress}} to tell both [[ComicBook/BirdsOfPrey Barbara]] and [[ComicBook/GreenArrow Oliver Queen]], her ex-husband, that she loves them. In that order. To say nothing of [[http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss175/galateus/comics/babsdinah-25uo2a0.jpg this]].
* ''ComicBook/{{Runaways}}'': Nico Minoru has been on-panel only seen attracted to guys, but has a lot of ShipTease with her LipstickLesbian friend, Karolina (especially under later writers). It's also implied she was initially jealous of Xavin, Karolina's girlfriend.
* Jessica Drew a.k.a. ComicBook/SpiderWoman. In the mainstream universe she's had a steady relationship with men but she's also had ''a lot'' of LesYay with some female characters, especially her "best friend" [[ComicBook/MsMarvel Carol Danvers]]. Blurring this further is that her [[ComicBook/UltimateSpiderMan Ultimate Marvel]] self is openly lesbian.
* The ''ComicBook/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy'' 2013 series has quite a few of these moments between [[ComicBook/AngelaMarvelComics Angela]] & Gamora. This lends credence to what SelfDemonstrating/{{Loki}} claimed in ''ComicBook/YoungAvengers'', namely that Asgardians don't have a sexual orientation as humans understand it.
-->'''Intercom voice''': Will you marry me?\\
'''Angela''': You're too short, Rocket.\\
'''Intercom voice''': This is Gamora.\\
'''Angela''': I'll consider it.
* Selene from ''ComicBook/XMen'' isn't openly bisexual and is in fact a widow of a man named Marcus Gallio. But she also possesses some amount of LesbianVampire traits.

[[folder:Films -- Animated]]
* [=LeFou=] of ''Disney/BeautyAndTheBeast'' is a little too into Gaston, but was also drooling over the Bimbettes a split second before they "accidentally" sprayed him with water.
* The Goth Kid from ''WesternAnimation/TheBookOfLife''. When introduced to the pictures of La Muerte and Xibalba he called them both "so pretty".
* The title character of ''WesternAnimation/{{Megamind}}''. Yes, he did [[spoiler:end up with Roxanne]], but he exhibited almost as much emotion and heartbreak [[VillainousCrush towards Metro Man]]. His criminally tight spandex suit, fascination with leather, and eyeliner just make him more ambiguous.

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* Jay of ''Franchise/TheViewAskewniverse'' enthusiastically hits on women, but when accused in ''Film/{{Dogma}}'' by Rufus of fantasizing about other men while masturbating, his response is "Dude, not all the time!" Later, when waking up suddenly, he babbles "I didn't come in you, Pete, I swear!" Wikipedia [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_and_Silent_Bob lists most of the many times he and Bob do something ambiguous]]. WordOfGod is that Jay ''is'' most likely bi, though onscreen evidence suggests that he's severely closeted.
* Jack Sparrow of ''Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean''. He's shown on screen to be interested in woman and has considerable HoYay with other male characters, and Creator/JohnnyDepp (the actor who plays him) [[WordOfGay has said that he's bisexual]].
* Morse in ''Film/{{Alien 3}}''. When the prisoners all find out that Ripley has crashed on their prison planet, Morse declares that he has taken a vow of celibacy "...and that includes women." Later in the Assembly Cut of the film, Morse is [[spoiler:finally persuaded to let Golic out of his restraints]] when Golic says to him "I love you, Morse."
* Karen from ''Theatre/TheChildrensHour''. The movie centers around her and her best friend Martha, [[spoiler:who is later revealed to be gay and in love with her]]. Karen's engaged to a man, though her relationship with Martha is full of subtext; even people in-story think they're too close, no thanks to a child's MaliciousSlander.
* ''Film/JamesBond'' villain Silva in ''Film/{{Skyfall}}'' aggressively flirted with both Severine and Bond. While Bond's tied to a chair and Silva is suggestively touching him, the following exchange happens.
-->'''Silva''': Well... first time for everything, yes?\\
'''Bond''': What makes you think this is my first time?

* Many women in ''Literature/ABrothersPrice'' are well able to appreciate beauty in their own sex. Cira is the only one who is explicitly bi, but as her homosexual relationship is treated as nothing unusual, it can be assumed that bisexual women wouldn't exactly feel the need to "out" themselves.
* The ''Literature/{{Hurog}}'' duology has Ward, who is attracted to women, according to himself, but does notice that his [[OurGhostsAreDifferent newly inherited, immortal slave]] Oreg is a pretty boy. It causes him to pity Oreg, as he suspects some of his ancestors to have been rapists. ''However'', later on they become quite close friends, and Ward notices that Oreg working magic is a beautiful sight, and he can also feel the magic, and is a bit embarassed because it feels like "a hand touching [him] intimately". Ward is also well able to understand why the king's "favourite" has this position - Garranon is an exceptionally beautiful and elegant man, and Ward mentions that he likes Garranon better than most of the other courtiers.
* Eragon from ''Literature/InheritanceCycle'' comes off as this. Despite his obsession with an unattainable elf girl, he travels and becomes EXTREMELY close to his half-brother Murtagh, and starts getting vengeful and sulky when Murtagh turns out to think he's an annoying little twerp. Additionally he never notices Arya's characteristics (read: breasts), but he spends a lot of time ogling his master's muscles, "port-red lips" and long, flowing hair, and starts staring intently at the guy's "hairless groin" during a naked bath scene. [[FoeRomanceSubtext He also ogles the "hard and lean" muscles of his crippled ex-nemesis]].
* In ''Literature/TheLongWalk'', [=McVries=] seems to care about Garraty in a way that extends beyond friendship. He's also mentioned to have had a girlfriend.
* In Erica Jong's ''Fear of Flying,'' it's easy to make a case for Adrian's bisexuality. While he's deeply enamoured with Isadora's body and mind, he also hints at an attraction to her husband Bennett at times, up to [[spoiler:stroking Bennett's back after Bennett and Isadora have sex in front of him]].
* Aiden from ''Literature/OfFearAndFaith'', who flirts with literally every woman he meets but also admits to using his [[TheCasanova considerable charms]] on men to get what he wants and he seems to flirt with his male friend Tel on occasion.
* Rinaldi of ''Literature/AFarewellToArms'' [[LatinLover talks about sleeping with women constantly]], but he is also very affectionate towards Frederic, trying to kiss him on several occasions. He calls Frederic "baby" and appears slightly flamboyant, though this may be DeliberateValuesDissonance being used to contrast him against his American friend.
* Amaliya of ''Literature/PrettyWhenSheDies'' has a lot of hints dropped she's attracted to women as well as men. It's practically text at some points she's had lesbian relationships in the past.
* Patches of ''When A Man's A Man'' (by Harold Wright) unsuccessfully proposes to two women over the course of the story and has no problem understanding the other cowboys' attraction to Kitty. However, his happy ending is riding off into the sunset with Yavapai Joe, saying he's going to teach him "how to be a man". This is meant to be interpreted philosophically rather than sexually, but you have to wonder.
* The protagonist of ''Gallagher Girls'' has several relationships with men of varying importance, but she also has a tendency to describe the beauty of her female TrueCompanions, ''[[spoiler:even while bleeding out from a gunshot.]]''
* Kavinsky of ''Literature/TheRavenCycle'' is hinted to be a [[DepravedBisexual Depraved Bisexual]] and in ''Blue Lily, Lily Blue'', [[spoiler: Adam Parrish, who previously sort-of-dated Blue,]] notices [[spoiler: Ronan's]] crush on him and is flattered by it. He has also made a few comments that indicate he finds him good looking, including staring at him from time to time. It has yet to be seen whether he reciprocates [[spoiler: Ronan's feelings]] or if he just likes being wanted. At this point [[spoiler: Adam himself might not even be aware that he likes Ronan in that way.]]
* ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'':
** Bella is in a steady relationship with Edward. His adopted sister, Alice, is her best friend. Many of Bella and Alice's interactions mirror her interactions with Edward, particularly when Bella gets very huggy and clingy towards Alice. This includes a scene in ''New Moon'' where the two basically snuggle on the sofa. Bella also repeatedly talks about how "breathtaking" and beautiful Rosalie is.
** Despite being HappilyMarried to Esme, Carlisle seems a lot more passionate about his adopted son, Edward. More than a few people have noted that when Carlisle had to choose a traveling companion, he instantly went for the pretty young boy and went for a wife second.
* ''Literature/{{Wicked}}'':
** Whether Elphaba is in love with Glinda is left vague but they share a lot of LesYay. Elphaba does have an affair with Fiyero and [[spoiler:ends up pregnant by him]].
** Glinda is canonically in love with Elphaba, even decades after her death, however she married a man. She uses him for money and it's unknown if she's attractd to men or if he is [[TheBeard a beard]].

[[folder:Live Action TV]]
* From ''Series/{{Arrow}}'' Sin is this in-universe, as when Thea is helping her get ready for a fake date, Thea says she'll help Sin get her man-or woman. Sin herself has never said much on the subject one way or another.
* In one episode of ''Series/FatherTed'' Father Jack Hackett, a foul-mouthed, skirt-chasing horndog, climbs naked into bed with Bishop Brennan (albeit while sleepwalking), and after waking up and realizing where he is remains in bed with him.
* Hawkeye Pierce from ''Series/{{Mash}}'' has flirted with everybody except for Sherman Potter. Admittedly, he was just doing it to be a JerkAss half the time, but there are ways of doing that that don't make people question your sexual preferences.
* ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'':
** Crowley, Bobby and Gabriel all show signs of swinging both ways. Castiel himself has expressed that he is "indifferent" to sexual orientation.
** Pretty much every demon or angel can be seen as at least ambiguously bi, given their predilection for genderswapping their meatsuits/vessels. Take Meg when she possessed Sam and went after Jo, or Lucifer appearing in both male and female forms to essentially seduce his vessels. Although the entire concept of gender is pretty ambiguous for angels especially, making the question of sexuality even more confusing.
** Dean Winchester has shippy moments between Castiel and Benny Lafitte, and his love for Dr. Sexy. Writer Ben Edlund and producer Phil Sgriccia joked about Dean potentially settling down with Aaron (a gay character who hit on Dean in the episode "Everybody Hates Hitler") in the season 8 DVD, though actor Jensen Ackles has has stated Dean is a "[[http://youtu.be/ra60hGY0fjQ?t=18m34s manly heterosexual guy]]". Both Castiel and Dean have been stated by WordOfGod [[http://fandomdebunker.tumblr.com/post/64860502869/regarding-chad-kennedy to be heterosexual]], but if anyone thinks that'll put an end to the debate we have a nice bridge to sell you.
** Sam Winchester, as overlooked as it is. He's never been shown to correct someone for thinking he's gay unless it's to tell them that Dean is his brother, not his boyfriend, and two out of three times his crossroads demons--entities used to make deals with humans in exchange for their soul, sealed with a kiss--manifested as men, which Sam didn't seem surprised by. (Though Dean, who was present the second time this happened, ''was'' surprised and asked why the demon wasn't one of the hot females that ''he'' kept getting. Neither Sam nor the demon answered him.)
* Stiles Stilinski from ''Series/TeenWolf'' is very interested in whether or not he's attractive to gay guys, and asks both Scott and [[StraightGay Danny]] whether they find him attractive, which becomes a RunningGag by the second season. After Sheriff Stilinski [[ItMakesSenseInContext finds him at a gay bar]], Stiles tells his dad that he "could be [gay]", and his dad's only argument is that Stiles can't be gay because his fashion sense is so awful. And that doesn't even begin to cover all of the HoYay moments Stiles has with [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace Derek]] [[WolfMan Hale]]. This seems to have slipped into BiTheWay with Season 3, in which Stiles, while planning to lose his virginity in order to be safe from what he believes to be a rash of virgin sacrifices, is completely willing to do so with Danny after the latter offers to help him out; the only problem is that Danny wasn't serious about the offer (and Stiles seems disappointed after realizing this). The Season 3B episode "Illuminated" has this exchange, when an explicitly bisexual character asks him about his preferences:
-->'''Stiles:''' I thought you liked girls?\\
'''Caitlin:''' I do like girls. Do you?\\
'''Stiles:''' Absolutely.\\
'''Caitlin:''' Great!\\
'''Stiles:''' So you also like boys?\\
'''Caitlin:''' Absolutely. Do you?\\
'''Stiles:''' ''[stares into the distance and doesn't answer]''
* Amy Farra Fowler from ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'' makes constant remarks about how sexy her (female) bestie Penny is, but still vies for the affections of men [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg and Sheldon.]]
* Karen Walker on ''Series/WillAndGrace''. Married to men several times, has had many male partners, but ThatOtherWiki [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_Walker_%28Will_%26_Grace%29#Sexuality has a whole section about her sexuality]].
* ''Series/{{Psych}}'':
** There's little doubt that Shawn likes the ladies, but he's also really quite cool about flirting with/trying it on with the guys as well:
-->'''Shawn:''' This is a great plan. Callum [=McAllister=] deserves to be commended.\\
'''Gus:''' ''(sarcastic)'' Maybe you should date him too.\\
'''Shawn:''' ''(confident)'' Maybe I ''will''.
** There's an episode where Lassiter ducks to avoid a woman in the police department because he made out with her at a picnic. Several seconds later he ducks again, when a different person passes.
-->'''Shawn:''' That's a dude!\\
'''Gus:''' ''(deadpan)'' Must have been ''some'' picnic.
* The title character of ''Series/{{House}}'' is attracted to Cuddy and has had sex with female prostitutes, but also has a lot of HoYay with other males, including jokingly(?) hitting on Chase numerous times and plenty of maybe-romantic moments with HeterosexualLifePartner Wilson. His actor Creator/HughLaurie has agreed with the statement that Wilson is "the other love of [House's] life."
* Penelope Taynt of ''Series/TheAmandaShow'' is utterly obsessed with Amanda and once had a thing with a guy who was just as obsessed with Amanda as she was.
* DS James Hathaway of ''Series/{{Lewis}}''. His only two love interests have been women, [[spoiler:including one trans woman]]. However, he has some ambiguous background regarding reasons for leaving his training for a priesthood, [[spoiler:he gives homophobic advice to his gay friend, which would ultimately lead to his suicide]] and when asked by Lewis whether or not he is gay, he does not give a clear answer.
-->'''Lewis''': Are you gay?\\
'''Hathaway''': What's that mean?\\
'''Lewis''': You know what that means.\\
'''Hathaway''': What, that there's boys and girls and a nice neat straight line down the middle, and gay's if you like shoes and musicals and straight's if you read Loaded and eat Yorkie bars?
* Both Xena and Gabrielle from ''Series/XenaWarriorPrincess'' are infamous for this. Their 'relationship' and the subtext behind it, despite all of the relationships with men they both had (and the former's continual FoeRomanceSubtext with Ares), is still one of the best remembered things about the show, even by people who haven't seen it. WordOfGod [[FlipFlopOfGod flip flops]] around, but at one time it stated the characters were common-law married. Lampshaded in the Season 6 episode "You are There", when a modern day reporter (LongStory) asks Xena and Gabrielle about the 'nature' of their 'relationship'. Just as the Warrior Princess and her long time side kick were about to answer, the reporters cameras cut out.
-->'''Nigel:''' It's dead?! The battery?! This is the world's greatest story and you're telling me the battery is dead?! I don't believe this! Oh, man!
* ''Series/{{NCIS}}'':
** Ziva, although it's also been suggested that she drops these hints just to torture Tony.
** CGIS Agent Borin. In "Oil and Water", she and Tony are chasing a suspect, which she [=KOs=] with a left-handed swing of an oar. Her explanation is... interesting.
-->'''Borin:''' College softball.\\
'''Tony:''' Southpaw?\\
'''Borin:''' I swung both ways.
* In ''Series/ShakeItUp'' the two leads [=CeCe=] and Rocky have a ton of LesYay. In one episode when Rocky is asked why she's going to a dance with a particular boy she says that the only two people tall enough to dance with her when she's in heels is that boy and the Captain of the girls basketball tea. Then she looks upset and says "and she didn't ask me".
* ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'':
** Faith routinely has sex with guys, though if her treatment of Xander is any indication she never has any emotional or romantic feelings for them, but also has [[HoYay/BuffyTheVampireSlayer huge Les yay/Foe yay with Buffy]], and occasionally Willow. She also has some innuendo with Lilah in her first ''Series/{{Angel}}'' arc (it's been said in interviews that this was so strong in early takes that the actresses were ordered to tone it down). Her having a crush on Buffy is seemingly confirmed by [[ItMakesSenseInContext the First as the Mayor]] in season 7, and her actress Eliza Dushku said that she always thought that Faith definitely had something for Buffy. In season 8 Faith herself denies this though, but it isn't like this would be the first time Faith has lied about something personal, and the very same arc had some heavy-handed lesbian innuendo between Faith and Gigi.
** Buffy was definitely in love with Angel and Riley (and [[DestructiveRomance whatever she had]] with Spike), but her legendary LesYay with Faith was hardly one-sided, her and Willow have all the signs of a RomanticTwoGirlFriendship, season 5 kept drawing parallels between her and Dawn and Willow and Tara, and in season 8 [[spoiler:she has sex with fellow slayer Satsu]]. In ''Season 9'' she thinks she slept with Willow after a night of partying, but didn't. This ambiguity is likely due to the Buffyverse having NoBisexuals.
** In the first three seasons this was the case for both Willow and Xander, having explicit crushes and relationships with men and women respectively, but also creating lots of subtext and various (intentional and unintentional) homoerotic comments. Then Willow came out [[NoBisexuals as a lesbian]] and Xander... became even ''more'' ambiguous, especially when Spike was involved.
** The group of Darla, Angelus, Drusilla and Spike were implied to be in a sort-of poly relationship on top of the usual Darla/Angelus and Drusilla/Spike couples, and are shown to be very affectionate (in their [[InterplayOfSexAndViolence own way]]) with each other and plenty of others regardless of gender. Vampires in general are implied to be bisexual, but these four were the only ones that got more than a comment or two towards it.
* Sam in ''Series/ICarly'' seems to like guys but almost none get ever last past one episode, including the one in "iMake Sam Girlier" that such a big deal was made over, an episode that seemed to lampshade Sam's ButchLesbian behaviors. She and Carly have a ''lot'' of [[HoYay/ICarly Les Yay]]. There is also speculation that Carly's brother Spencer might be bi, because of the episode where he was wearing a dress and dancing with cute guys saying, "I think I like it."
* ''[[Series/SpartacusBloodAndSand Spartacus Vengeance]]'':
** Saxa sleeps with several of the male fighters. After she and Mira win a fight, she gives Mira a celebratory kiss on the lips. In ''Wrath of the Gods'' the first sex scene is her having a foursome with Gannicus, and she later gropes another woman's breast while making out with her.
** Mira, while surprised by the above kiss, is not overly displeased. Her status as a (former) BeautifulSlaveGirl means she may have previously slept with women, though she obviously wouldn't have had any choice in the matter.
* Gob on ''Series/ArrestedDevelopment'' has a few moments in the first 3 seasons - including hitting on Gary the intern (and getting Gary to sit on his lap) and mistaking a middle-aged married couple for escorts but being prepared to have sex with both of them anyway. In season 4 [[spoiler:he has sex with Tony Wonder, and Michael's reaction implies he was aware Gob wasn't completely straight ("I knew it! I ''always'' knew it!")]]
* JP on ''Series/FreshMeat''. Although he's shown having a healthy interest in women, he also [[ExperimentedInCollege experimented in public school]] with his male best friend. He angsts about what it means when he finds out that his friend is gay. Later on he gets a little too much into kissing Kingsley on a dare.
* A third of the female cast of ''Series/PrettyLittleLiars'', but most notably Alison Dilaurentis. Her affairs with older men serve as the motive for many suspects in the show's universe, and she was shown to be popular with boys her own age as well. She also had a private, unofficial relationship with the then-closeted Emily, though her attraction was implied to be disingenuous-- even still, she assures Emily that she favors her above all others. Alison's extreme protectiveness over the three girls is evident, but her manipulation regarding Emily seems solely focused on keeping her from coming out and connecting with other queer women. She goes so far as to extort Paige, a later love interest for Emily, and delays their relationship by several years, though Alison likely intended to prevent it entirely. Additionally, she led Spencer in a romantic slow-dance with the casual handwave that it was only "practice" for dancing with boys, the same excuse she gave for kissing Emily, and it's heavily implied Alison would tease and flirt with all the girls under the guise of "practice."
* ''Series/{{Warehouse 13}}'' has H.G. Wells. In one episode she states that "Many of my lovers have been men" and has vast amounts of LesYay with Myka, including the time she snuck Myka and herself into a lab in a police station by implying that she was trying to "impress her". She also had a child, made out with Pete, and [[spoiler:has a boyfriend]].
* Bernard Black from ''Series/BlackBooks''. He's dated women, but in the second episode he states he used to think he was gay, but stopped identifying as such because he didn't want to feel like he had to act camp, so he's probably this and under the impression that there are NoBisexuals and has never heard of StraightGay.
* Chiana in ''Series/{{Farscape}}''. She is never clearly stated to have slept with a woman, but she flirts with '''everyone''' at some point, including several female regulars. The most explicit it gets is when the gang encountered a shapechanging EmotionEater monster that could permanently remove emotions from people after provoking them. It ate Chiana's libido (don't worry, she got better). While disguised as a humanoid woman.
* Lix Storm from ''Series/TheHour''. She dresses quite ambiguously for the 1950s setting and flirts with women on occasion, but she's had several hook-ups with men before as well.
* ''Series/DoctorWho'': Ace. Although she sometimes has romantic subtext with a male guest character, especially Mike in "Remembrance of the Daleks" and Sorin in "The Curse of Fenric", she also forms some '''very''' intense relationships with other young women. Especially in "Ghost Light" (in which she dresses up in male Victorian evening dress in a way that in a classic Hollywood movie would scream "GettingCrapPastTheRadar lesbian", and then runs around holding hands with a girl who turns out to be evil, with whom she has two separate {{Cat Fight}}s, one on a bed) and "Survival" (in which the scriptwriter explicitly [[WordOfGay declared]] that the very "Women Who Run With The Wolves" relationship between her and werecheetah Karra was deliberately homoerotic). However, her appearances in adult-aimed ExpandedUniverse material with more overt sexual content depict her as straight.
* On ''Series/AgentsOfShield'', Leo Fitz acknowledges out loud that he subconsciously finds another male character ([[spoiler:Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie]]) attractive.
* Tori Vega of ''Series/{{Victorious}}''. She had a few (one-episode) boyfriends or love interests and expressed attraction to a recurring male character, though notably had less romantic motivation than many leading ladies in her genre; despite this, she had significant amounts of [[HoYay/{{Victorious}} Les Yay]] with Jade and Cat, and has commented on the good looks of both aforementioned girls as well as [[Series/ICarly Carly]] in the crossover and a few minor or background female characters. She also performs several duets with a male character in which she addresses the subject as female, and even sings lead on the cast cover of [[Music/MichaelJackson I Want You Back]] without changing the female pronouns. However, her few solo love songs are either unspecific in their subject matter or use male pronouns.
* ''Series/AgentCarter'':
** Howard Stark, notorious playboy and womaniser, has his feelings for Steve paralleled with Peggy's twice, easily interpreted that Howard loved Steve romantically, just as Peggy did.
-->'''Howard:''' I know how much he meant to you, because I know how much he means to me.\\
'''Peggy:''' ''[as Howard is risking his life in an attempt to save Steve]'' I know you loved him. I loved him too. But this won’t bring him back. Steve is gone. We have to move on, all of us. As impossible as that may sound, we have to let him go.
** Peggy's doomed love for Steve forms an important part of her character, and she also spends a lot of time developing a close, possibly romantic relationship with her neighbor Angie. For bonus points, they fall into the romance cliche of the action hero with the secret identity and the supportive GirlNextDoor.

* VisualKei as a genre is somewhat notorious for people both being and pretending to be this, at least with onstage fanservice. It actually pre-dated its current use as YaoiFangirl fanservice, though, with an outsize population of ''actual'' bisexuals or at the very least [[SituationalSexuality men willing to touch, kiss, flirt with, and occasionally even possibly have sex with other men]] from the very beginning of the scene, with ''at least two'' founders of the scene itself being bisexual offstage, although concealing that they actually were. This led to a very accepting climate for gay and bisexual men and [[GuyOnGuyIsHot man on man fanservice]], which began as a way to flip off a conservative Japanese society that believed same-sex attraction among men was "excessive" and "perverted" and a "phase" to be grown out of to marry a woman and have children and to provide a plausible cover story of "it's just fanservice," to protect everyone and their reputations. Music/XJapan was the band that kicked off the entire idea of man on man fanservice onstage - and still holds the title for some of the most RefugeInAudacity examples, ''and'' has had members eventually subtly come out, albeit not in press conferences or exact words. Music/{{Adams}} is a duet centered around the idea of being a male couple, though in their case it's inverted - both members are suspected to actually be heterosexual offstage.

[[folder:Professional Wrestling]]
* After gay rights activists [[GenreBlind complained]] about Wrestling/{{Goldust}} on [[Wrestling/WWERaw Monday Night Raw]] for his {{ambiguously gay}} [[GorgeousGeorge gimmick]], Goldust instead began showing an equal amount of interest in men and women.[[/folder]]

[[folder: Stand-Up Comedy]]
* Creator/LouisCK, in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc3t-TdOJuU one of his routines]], mentions that he saw a beautiful couple; a beautiful woman together with a beautiful man. He then says that he doesn't care that the man is beautiful and that he'd be willing to suck his dick. When referring to men who perform oral sex on other men, rather than being repelled by it, he defends it as being one of the gutsiest things a man can do.

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Pete Kowalski and Vance Medici of ''VideoGame/{{Bully}}''.
* Endrance in ''VideoGame/DotHackGU''.
* ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}'':
** One possible interpretation of [[AmbiguouslyGay Kanji]] [[JapaneseDelinquents Tatsumi]]. [[CampGay His Shadow]] aside, he has a crush on [[KidDetective Naoto Shirogane]] throughout the course of the game - thing is, [[spoiler:Naoto is thought to be male at first, yet when it's found out that she's female, Kanji's crush still remains, and he's relieved to discover that Naoto was a girl the entire time]]. He also displays a small crush on Chihiro Fushimi, but at the same time, there's...''[[{{HoYay}} something]]'' that seemingly goes beyond friendship in his Social Link with [[HelloInsertNameHere the male protagonist]].
** While there is no GayOption, there are numerous chances for the protagonist to express interest in the guys of the group. In ''[[UpdatedRerelease Golden]]'', he can even try to hit on a middle-aged police officer!
** Chie and Yukiko. It's possible for the main character to date either one (or both) of them, but their relationship with each other is dripping with lesbian subtext, to the point that it forms the basis for their shadows.
* Estelle of ''VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia'' has a pretty obvious BodyguardCrush on [[TheHero Yuri]], although she also has way, ''way'' too much ShipTease with Rita for it simply to be called "subtext". While ''Vesperia'' is [[NoHuggingNoKissing pretty platonic on the whole]], some of their moments blur that line. They also get an in-universe PortmanteauCoupleName.
* ''VideoGame/TalesOfXillia'':
** Jude, to the point where it's brought up by the characters. When he's discussing Milla's human form, Milla mentions she could have chosen a male body, and Jude says that that "wouldn't bother him." When Alvin asks him if he swings both ways, he doesn't exactly deny it - and he and Alvin have a smattering of very touchy-feely HoYay moments between them. Alvin could probably qualify for this too, as he's the instigator of most of those touchy-feely moments but also once had a relationship with [[spoiler:Presa]].
** [[ChildMage Elize]] clearly has a massive crush on Jude, but her living doll, Teepo, repeatedly [[MarshmallowHell moterboats]] [[BoobsOfSteel Milla]], and if Elize is brought along for the final battle in ''VideoGame/TalesOfXillia2'' says they're fighting for all the beautiful girls out there. [[spoiler:Teepo has no mind of his own. He just voices Elize's thoughts, including the ones she's not consciously aware of.]]
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'':
** Lucia of ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTellius'' is [[RomanticTwoGirlFriendship extremely close to]] [[PrincessClassic Elincia]], yet she also has BelligerentSexualTension with [[PurpleProse Bastian]].
** Legault from ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword]]'' occasionally makes remarks that could lead to certain assumptions being made about him in his conversations with Lloyd, Matthew, and Heath... but then again, he makes similar remarks to Isadora.
** Florina is afraid of men, yet lived with Lyn for a time on the Sacaean plains, and tells Lyn "Oh, I do so love you!". She can also marry Hector if she gets an 'A' level support with him.
** Ike shows all the female allies he has with the same level of professionalism as the other men in his troop, regardless of how much they obviously like him. And in his ending, he may be accompanied by one of two guys to quest for other civilizations. A character in ''Awakening'' implies that he is Ike's descendant, though in what way is made ambiguous, as a wife is never mentioned, and his sister can marry and possibly bear collateral descendants.
** Kjelle of ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]'' can only marry male characters, but the sheer amount of LesYay between her and Severa almost removes the ambiguity. And then in a DLC episode Kjelle accidentally takes a truth serum and practially spews a love confession. Severa herself is obsessed with making Kjelle a ProperLady instead of the TheLadEtte, but keeps getting [[DistractedByTheSexy distracted by Kjelle's abs.]]
* ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'' has [[AnIcePerson Jin Kisaragi]], whose speech patterns grow very [[{{Yandere}} disturbing]] in a DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything kind of way whenever he gets the chance to talk to his dear [[BigBrotherAttraction 'niisan']]. It's established in ''[[VideoGame/BlazBlueContinuumShift Continuum Shift]]'' though that there is something between him and [[LadyOfWar Tsubaki]], but that doesn't stop the HoYay moments with Ragna.
* In the third ''VideoGame/{{Rayman}}'' game, Globox was depicted very... strangely, to say the least. In one boss fight, he shouts "Hey! Get your hands off of '''MY''' Rayman!"; if he's [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential punched during gameplay]] one of the things he says is "I'm a lover, not a fighter!"; and near the beginning he hugs Rayman so closely and tightly that another character is compelled to ask "Hey, you got room for a third?". That's not even covering his dream about pregnancy and maternal attitude towards the main villain... And yet if plot points of the game and previous interpretations of the character are anything to go by, he is quite clearly attracted to other females of his species.
* ''VideoGame/HarvestMoon: DS [[DistaffCounterpart Cute]]'':
** All of the "Special Girls". They can become just as smitten with you when you're playing as a girl as they did when you were playing as Pete. The Japanese version has a gay marriage system for them under the guise of a "Best Friends" system. Everyone calls you "best friends" but you have the exact same dialogue as in the boy version, you can have a child with them, and you go through the same courting rituals (Heart Events and all).
** The Goddess is this even without the Best Friend System. She and the Witch Princess are both available love interests to the male hero but have a FoeRomanceSubtext filled relationship. The Goddess' notorious antipathy toward you when she's your wife doesn't help.
** The Mineral Town girls. They are ''very'' friendly with the main character after you befriend them and even have moments with {{NPC}}s. Similarly, but less apparent and extreme, their [[GenerationXerox ancestors]] in "More Friends of Mineral Town".
* ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII'':
** Vanille and especially Fang; while they get the majority of their shipping with ''each other'', Vanille gets significant shipping with Hope - to the point of appearing upset when he makes her think he likes her, only to reveal he was joking - and Fang receives several moments with Snow (despite him having a canon love interest in Serah) and Lightning (in a flirty BattleCouple, SlapSlapKiss, sense) before, and even after, she is reunited with Vanille.
** Lightning receives about an equal amount of shipping moments with Fang and Hope and has no canon love interest.
* ''VideoGame/SaintsRow'':
** The Boss, especially if you play as a female character. Some of the things she says to Shaundi and Kinzie come off as flirtatious and mentions stripper poles quite often (while there are male strippers, they usually don't poledance), but also mentions that she likes men (while disguised as Cyrus Temple though). In ''VideoGame/SaintsRowIV'' all crew members except Creator/KeithDavid can be romanced, removing the ambiguity.
** Matt Miller has an unhealthy obsession with Nyte Blayde, but has a girlfriend in ''VideoGame/SaintsRowTheThird'' and mentioned having crushes on Kinzie and Asha in ''IV''.
* Lynn from ''VideoGame/SummonNight'' flirts with protagonist whether they're a boy or a girl, though it's rather ambiguous if it's teasing or not. Aera reacts to Lynn wanting to kiss her rather suspiciously but has ShipTease with boys.
* Custom female characters in ''[[VideoGame/SoulSeries Soul Calibur 5]]'' with the "Femme Fatale" voice option. Their dialogue consists of a lot of flirtatious quotes, which they'll use whatever the gender of their opponent.
* ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'':
** Elsa from ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'' and ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' throws a kiss at you no matter your gender. She's pretty close to Skyla and gravitates exclusively towards Join Avenue shops with a "dazzlingly cute girl".
** [[MakingASplash Marlon]], when visiting join avenue, requests shops run by "a very energetic man". If you stand behind the female Jellicent/Frillfish half of the face board, clearly meant for couples, he'll come out of the gym and take a photo with you from behind the male half.
* In the ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' series, Phoenix was in a steady relationship with a woman in college and has shown clear attraction to other female characters. He also constantly shows concern towards his prosecutor rival Miles Edgeworth, becoming a defense attorney for the sole reason of saving him from some trouble and acting like a jilted lover when Edgeworth vanishes in the second game. Klavier Gavin, from ''VisualNovel/ApolloJusticeAceAttorney'', flirts with just about every girl he comes across but also acts ''very'' flirty towards Apollo.
* Luigi from ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' is campy and shows attraction to Prince Peasley. Still he's the ImpliedLoveInterest to Daisy and has shown attraction to several female characters in varying continuities.

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Saber of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' has her main relationship with the male Shirou, but she also doesn't mind Rin [[ThreeWaySex getting involved]], and in the end of the Unlimited Blade Work ending actually becomes part of ''Rin's'' harem along with Shirou. In ''LightNovel/FateZero'' her relationship with Irisviel is more than a little eyebrow-raising, though it never appears to go past the CourtlyLove level. And that's before remembering that Saber is actually [[spoiler:King Arthur]], and as we all know the legend states [[spoiler:s/he married Guinevere, and though it's specifically referred to as a SexlessMarriage that was only done so Saber's gender wouldn't be questioned the two of them seem to have had some affection for each other, though as another nod to the original legend Guinevere was ultimately in love with Lancelot and we all know how [[LoveRuinsTheRealm that worked out]].]]
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'':
** Rena [[ImTakingHerHomeWithMe takes home]] anyone regardless of their gender, age, or species.
** Shion has a considerable amount of IncestSubtext with her twin sister Mion, despite having a canon male love interest in Satoshi.
** Rika and Satoko have a considerably LesYay filled relationship but there are implications that Rika is attracted to Keiichi, and arguably Akasaka.

* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'':
** Noah, who is well aware of this.
-->'''Noah:''' You are surprised I have a girlfriend?\\
'''Elliot:''' I ASSUMED NOTHING!\\
'''Noah:''' ''(grinning)'' Of course not.
** Ashley was attracted to Elliot just from watching him on his show with Susan and became even more interested in him upon learning he can turn into a woman. Her sexuality was discussed between Elliot and Tedd, but they aren't sure either.
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'':
** Jake is very probably [[BiTheWay bi]], but there's enough ambiguity about his relationship with Dirk that it's not impossible he's really straight.
** Caliborn is clearly interested in 'the bitches', but also has quite a bit of (very one-sided) VillainousCrush on [[spoiler:Dirk]], to the point of drawing fanart of the two of them being 'more than friendly' together. (This being [[TerribleArtist Caliborn]], it's impossible to tell what he ''actually'' drew, though.)
** Rose is dating a girl, but is also fond of certain masculine literary figures and implies that she and Dave treated one another differently before [[spoiler:they found out they were brother and sister]].
* ''Webcomic/MenageA3'' does this a lot: Didi, Sandra, Sonya and Gary (all supposedly straight), as well as Yuki (supposedly a lesbian) all doubt whether they might be bisexual at some point. Didi and Sandra even go as far as to try and have lesbian sex with each other, only to conclude that they're really 'two naked straight girls with poor boundary issues'. For Sonya, the question is still in the air, while Zii believes that "Yuki is not a lesbian, she just doesn't like penises" due to a childhood trauma from the work left lying around the home by her father, a manga-artist who became famous as [[AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles "The Tentacle King"]].
* [[TokenEvilTeammate Belkar]] of ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'' kissed the gender-ambiguous Vaarsuvius during a New Year's party and seems to love hitting on [[TheHero Roy]], especially when Roy is temporarily [[GenderBender turned into a woman]] and Belkar hits on "her" [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0244.html knowing full well who it really is]].
* Captain Tyr from ''Webcomic/{{Skins}}''. He likes a female soldier named Jordan but seems a little too enthusiastic when it comes to arresting the PrettyBoy male vampire, [[http://lj-phillips.deviantart.com/art/Let-s-Party-Thank-You-For-12-000-Views-376924194 Rabbit]] (who is openly in love with Tyr). The entire piece looks like a gay musical version of The Bodyguard.
* ''Webcomic/GunnerkriggCourt'':
** Kat had a crush on Alistair and Eglamore, her friendship with Annie has a lot of romantic tinges, and as of Chapter 42 she's [[spoiler:dating Paz]]. It's entirely probable that she's still discovering her sexuality, but bisexual seems the most likely.
** Antimony Carver has an ambiguous relationship with Kat and Jack, and if what Zimmy [[http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1036 found in her mind]] is any indicator she is attracted to Jones.

[[folder:Web Original]]
* WebVideo/MatthewSantoro has been shown to have a girlfriend, but he's also expressed sexual attraction to the male UsefulNotes/AlGore.

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* Shego and the title character of ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' show considerable amounts of LesYay toward each other, one episode has their 'friendship' overshadowing Kim and her own boyfriend's relationship (his reaction doesn't help), and they have had either male love interests or shown attraction to men.
* ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'':
** Double D was shown to go all LoveMakesYouDumb over Nazz like most of the other boys in the neighborhood, and some scenes between [[HoYay Double D and Eddy]] in The Movie just ''scream'' UnresolvedSexualTension. (Plus [[spoiler:Eddy's brother]] thought Double Dee was a girl and came to the conclusion that he was Eddy's "girlfriend".) In "Key to My Ed" Ed is dancing around, grabs Eddy and slams him into Double D, the two catching each other in a dancing position; Double Dee's only remark is a smirk and, "What? No flowers?". Also, his only complaint of Ed trying to kiss him under the mistletoe was that someone might be watching.
** Jimmy was already AmbiguouslyGay to begin with and appears to exhibit gay tendencies towards other guys but has a crush on Sarah.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'':
** Homer is HappilyMarried (most of the time) to Marge, but he's hugged and kissed Ned and filmed him naked in the shower, on several occasions commented how attractive another man was, and is the {{Trope Namer|s}} for StupidSexyFlanders. He's been kissed by another man on two separate occasions, and while clearly surprised didn't react negatively either. In one episode Homer and Chief Wiggum develop a friendship that verges on HoYay at times and in the episode "Donnie Fatso", Homer teams up with the FBI to infiltrate the mob, and becomes incredibly close to Fat Tony. True, the constant touching, hugging, and kisses on the cheek could be HandWaved by Tony being an Italian gentleman, but when Tony dies of a heart attack during a sting, Homer mourns like he just lost the love of his life. He also flirts hopelessly with a "sensitive but rugged" manatee lover, completely failing to understand why Marge isn't in love with him.
** Lisa had a RomanticTwoGirlFriendship in one episode and according to "Holidays of Future Passed" (which probably isn't canon) Lisa had several girlfriends in college before marrying Milhouse.
** Bart has had crushes on quite a few girls, but has also admitted to being "a little attracted to Milhouse" (this may have been to annoy Homer, but the trope ''is'' called ''Ambiguously'' Bi), got very jealous when Milhouse got a girlfriend, was willing to pose as Ralph Wiggum's date to attend the Krusty Anniversary Special ("You don't want to know how far I'll go!"), and one episode, in which he temporarily becomes best friends with Nelson, ends with a ''Film/BrokebackMountain'' parody.
** Milhouse seems to have crushes on both of the elder Simpson kids -- his crush on Lisa is well established, of course, but he has also intoxicatedly said about Bart that "this guy here... this is the guy", was very jealous when Bart was interested in a girl volunteer at the old folks' home, and once jumped over a waterfall while exclaiming "I can't live in a world without Bart!". His file in the school psychiatrist's office says that he has "flamboyantly homosexual tendencies".
** Abe enjoys dreaming of being the Queen of the Old West (and marrying two gunslingers at the same time), and when he transforms into a woman after being off his meds, he is pretty excited about Jasper's interest in him. Plus he's president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance for some reason.
** Ralph Wiggum once referred Bart as his boyfriend, and upon seeing Bart naked in the movie said "I like men now!". Another time he hugs Comic Book Guy and says he will never let go. He also has interest in Lisa.
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'':
** Peter is married to Lois and has shown attraction to women. In the episode where Peter starts hanging out with Bill Clinton the two hit it off right away, but Peter spends so much time with the guy that he ends up damaging his relationship with Lois. By the end of the episode both of them have been physically seduced by Clinton, the last scene being a shot of Peter laying next to Clinton in bed, and Peter states: "Boy you are good. You are really good." In another episode, Peter and Quagmire are just about to have sex in order to convince a prostitute that Quagmire is gay. They stop at the last minute, and Quagmire admits he's not gay, but Peter adds "Well I'm something, because I've been at full sail this whole time."
** Meg likes boys, but is also hinted to have a PsychoLesbian attraction to Connie.
** Lois is married to Peter but has hinted to have had lesbian experiences in the past.
* Courtney Gripling of ''WesternAnimation/AsToldByGinger''. She canonically likes boys but is also hinted to have LesYay towards Ginger, at the very least she's quite fond of her.
* The title characters of ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' are sometimes shown to be after girls or have girlfriends, but also have a considerable amount of HoYay with each other.
* Ren Hoek as depicted in ''[[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow Ren and Stimpy: Adult Cartoon Party]]''. He clearly loves the ladies and will try to grab a woman's breast at any given opportunity, yet at the same time he appears in a relationship with Stimpy, with whom he already shared an AmbiguouslyGay relationship with in the original. He denies that he loves Stimpy and insists that they're friends.
* The title character of ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' is said to be asexual by the creator, but he still is implied to have a crush on both Sandy and Squidward.
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** Azula has tons of LesYay with Ty Lee and Mai and she freaks out [[spoiler:after they betray her]] but she also has subtext with [[BrotherSisterIncest her brother]] as well trying (and failing) to seduce a guy at a party, and she generates FoeRomanceSubtext with ''everyone'' regardless of gender.
** Ty Lee seems to show an interest in Sokka, but also seems to show an interest in Azula. On Ember Island, she prefers Azula's company to the company of several attractive boys who really like her. She also tells Azula that she's the smartest, prettiest, most perfect girl in the world. More than once.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'':
** Korra and Mako were in a relationship, with definite feelings for each other, but broke up over personality clashes. At the start of season 3 Korra begins to develop a strong friendship with Asami, spending lots of time together on and off screen, and during their reunion in season 4 she ''blushes'' when Asami compliments Korra's new hair (every previous time a character blushes in this series or ''Avatar'', it's been because of the person they're crushing on). Their final scene is [[spoiler:them going on a vacation by themselves in the spirit world, shot the same way as Aang and Katara's BigDamnKiss scene, only without the kiss.]]
** Asami was also in a mutual relationship with Mako before Korra was, and seemed quite happy. As mentioned above, once Korra broke up with Mako and they finally resolved the RomanticPlotTumor in season three the two girls began spending more time with one another and started getting along arguably more so then either girl did with Mako. By Season 4 there are hints they could be attracted to each other, such as Asami being more enthusiactve about Korra's return then Mako was. WordOfGod [[http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/105916338157/ is that]] [[spoiler:this was completely intentional and a way to [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar get around Nickelodeon's S&P]], and that "Korrasami is canon"]], removing the ambiguity.
** Prince Wu in season four is a CasanovaWannabe who [[EpicFail majorly fails]] at hitting on both Korra and Asami, [[AbhorrentAdmirer much to their displeasure]], and says that he finds Kuvira pretty. He also seems to have [[BodyguardCrush feelings for Mako]]. He seems almost ''flirty'' when he thinks Mako comes from money (the Krew took him to Asami's place to hide out after a kidnapping attempt by Kuvira supporters), and he seems ''very'' eager to learn more about Mako's past in "[[Recap/TheLegendOfKorraS4E8Remembrances Remembrances]]".
* Piper of ''WesternAnimation/StormHawks'' blatantly crushes on male and female characters, in particular acting like a smitten fangirl every time Starling shows up, and her extensive FoeRomanceSubtext with Cyclonis stretches over most of the series.
* The mother[=/=]wife from the Creator/RalphBakshi short ''Malcom and Melvin''. When Malcom played his horn, she burst in and said "I'm in love with the ''person'' playing that music", implying that her reaction would've been the same if it was a woman playing the music and not a man (well, flea).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'':
** As mentioned in the AmbiguouslyGay page, Juandissimo. His entire role revolves around him having an unrequited love for Wanda but ''The Exciting Middle Part'' has a scene where he and Cupid act like a couple on a date.
** Most male characters who aren't just AmbiguouslyGay give off this vibe from time to time. [[BumblingDad Timmy's Dad]], Creator/AdamWest, [[DumbBlonde Chester]], [[TheSmartGuy AJ]], [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Cosmo]] and even Timmy himself all have conspicuous HoYay moments, despite also showing attraction to the ladies.
* Gil from ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyTest'' occasionally has an attraction for girls but seems much more interested in Johnny.
* Cartman from ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark''. He's obsessed with Kyle, [[GirlsHaveCooties hates girls]], and has made out with a cutout of Justin Timberlake while dressed as Britney Spears. Despite this he has had a crush on Wendy, had an attraction to a female substitute teacher once, and confessed he likes a girl named Patty Nelson.
* ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'':
** Queen Bee, according to Batman, can control "most men and some women", and gets curiously intimate with both Garfield and Megan within minutes.
** Garfield Logan (aka Beast Boy)'s mother Marie Logan, though it's only by reading between the lines that it becomes obvious. Between the first and second season she was killed by Queen Bee, who as stated above uses her powers to control people who are attracted to women, so whatever Marie was she wasn't 100% straight. Creator/GregWeisman [[WordOfGod responded]] when asked if Marie was a lesbian or bisexual with "[[MathematiciansAnswer Yes]]" when asked.
* Lil' George from ''WesternAnimation/LilBush''. He has a huge crush on Lil' Laura, but he's also had two incredibly flirtatious friendships with Lil' Tony Blair and Lil' Zac Efron. And he has a man crush on Aquaman.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Superjail}}'':
** The Warden is attracted mainly to women (unrequited love for Alice, for example), but is also shown to be obsessed with Lord Stingray and Jared. (Although he was rather {{Squick}}ed out by the latter's dream where they were making out.) And both obsessions come off as rather creepy, [[StalkerWithACrush especially with the former]].
** [[{{Transsexual}} Alice]], on the other hand, is usually shown as being attracted to men but [[spoiler:wound up sleeping with the Mistress]] at the end of "Stingstress". She quips afterwards that she had "forgotten how needy women can be". This would also make [[spoiler:the Mistress]], who's normally attracted to men, also Ambiguously Bi.
** While Jared is obviously attracted to women (including his own DistaffCounterpart Cherice), there was one episode back in the first season where he had a dream that he and Warden had switched places. And they proceeded to make out.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}'':
** Woodhouse had an obvious, HoYay-laden crush on his WWI squadmate Reggie Thistleton, but also finds Malory "drop-dead sexy".
** Cheryl used to date Dr. Krieger and has never been in a relationship with a woman, but gets off to being strangled and beaten, regardless of who's doing it, and may have flirted with Lana in Season 4. She also seriously dug the Queen Kong vibe that Pam gave off after the latter got high on cocaine and carried her off as a hostage.
* ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'':
** Marceline the Vampire Queen. We know from "Memory of a Memory" that she used to be in relationship with a BastardBoyfriend, but it has also been ''heavily'' implied in "What Was Missing" and "Sky Witch" that she and Princess Bubblegum were [[LesYay very close]] once and that she still retains feelings for PB. Eventually her voice actress Olivia Olson revealed that indeed Marceline and Princess Bubblegum used to date.
** Finn the Human had a long time PrecociousCrush on Bubblegum and a relationship with Flame Princess, but is either bisexual or ''very'' comfortable in his sexuality. In "The Hard Easy" he saves a cursed frog prince by kissing him, something that the prince says "few guys would do", and Finn nonchalantly shrugs off kissing a man because he's "comfortable with himself like that". In "Davey" he makes a secret identity for himself and goes out to dinner with a guy, then leaves his hero life behind to build a shack and live with his date. He hints that he has "repressed emotional feelings" for [[TheDitz Cinnamon Bun]], has kissed (on the cheek, granted) and cuddled [[DirtyOldMan Ice King]], and admits to watching Jake sleep.
* Bob from ''WesternAnimation/BobsBurgers''. He's referred to himself as "Mostly straight", admitted the handsome deli guy who [[MistakenForGay thought he was gay]] was out of his league, and only objected to a jab about marrying a guy with the condition that he wouldn't take his last name.
* Jack Spicer from ''WesternAnimation/XiaolinShowdown'' flirts with girls throughout the series (Kimiko, Jessie, Katnappe etc) while developing a fanboy crush on Chase Young (complete with adoring gazes through heart-shaped eyes, repeated attempts to hug and paw at him, and whiny jealous sulks whenever Chase rejects him). He also created an army of cheerleaders robots and enjoyed kissing one. Oh, and in the evil future where he takes over? He apparently has Chase Young constantly being tied up in nothing but his underwear, with butter being slathered on his abdomen, while Wuya is suspended from a wall in a cheerleader outfit.
* Dana from ''Biatches'' makes it very clear she's into guys, but has a habit of touching her friend Julia in private places and lifting her skirt, supposedly in a purely playful way.
