The Huffin Puff Express is a Children's Picture Book by David L. Harrison.

The book is about the titular Huffin Puff Express, a massive Cool Train making its way through the countryside to its destination. Being a book for small children, it mainly details what's on the train and what it passes on its route. And it does all of this in rhyme.

The book was published in 1974.

The Huffin Puff Express contains examples of:

  • Cool Train: The titular express, a 108-car long freight train pulled by a Southern Pacific Class GS-3 locomotive.
  • Down on the Farm: One of the locales we see the Huffin Puff Express pass is a farm.
  • Just Train Wrong: When the Huffin Puff Express is ascending a hill, its side rods are shown all crooked in a way that should not have allowed the driving wheels to be able to turn at all.
