The 11th book of the Endless Quest series.

The evil wizard Warzen casts a spell blanketing the land in eternal winter and captures his rival, the ailing wizard Alcazar. It's up to Alcazar's adopted daughter, Omina, to find some way to save him and break Warzen's evil spell.

This book provides examples of:

  • Crystal Prison: One ending involves Alcazar recovering his strength and trapping Warzen in one.
  • Endless Winter: The villain's first act of the book is to curse the land with it.
  • Evil Sorcerer: If the name Warzen didn't tip you off, he wants to make the land cold and lifeless forever.
  • Forced Transformation: Warzen has a habit of doing this to people he doesn't like, most of the time with little rhyme or reason. His magic turns Omina's cat into a reindeer, and a sailor into a talking clam. One with gold teeth.
  • Magic Mushroom: One of them's mentioned as a cure for Alcazar's illness, and it's possible for the reader to find and deliver it.
  • Obviously Evil: Warzen the Winter Wizard.
  • Secret Test of Character: One ally Omina can enjoin offers her the choice of two spells to defeat Warzen. Either will get the job done, but they involve different levels of force and violence.
  • Talking Animal: Omina can end up with a couple of different talking animal sidekicks, like cat-cum-reindeer mentioned above, or the luna moth with a glowing antenna.
