The Goosebumps SlappyWorld book where a kid turns invisible.

Frankie and his friends have a magic club. The problem is, Ari Goodwyn is always messing with Frankie's tricks. After so long of dealing with him, Frankie wishes there was some way he could back at him. One day they see Frankie's favorite magician Mystical Marvin and Frankie asks him how he does his vanishing act. He reveals he uses a real magic potion to do it. So Frankie steals the potion, hoping to sneak it into Ari's drink so he can turn him invisible. However, his plan backfires and he ends up becoming invisible instead. Can he figure out a way to fix this, or will the chance to do so vanish quicker than he did?

This book provides examples of:

  • Adults Are Useless: Averted. Frankie's parents eventually do find out about what is going on. While their efforts to help don't work, it's at least appreciated.
  • Chekhov's Gun: It's established that Ari's dog Buster likes to jump on Frankie and slobber all over him. It's also mentioned by Marvin that animal slobber is used in the potion. It turns out dob slobber cures the invisibility so when Frankie comes back to Ari's house, the dog pounces on him and he turns visible again.
  • Covers Always Lie: The cover depicts Frankie as having his clothes be seen while invisible, while in the book his clothes turn invisible too.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Ari Goodwyn. They only hang out with him because his basement is a good place to hold their meetings.
  • Here We Go Again!: Frankie turns visible again but the others drink the potion too.
  • Invisible Main Character: Frankie, the titular invisible boy.
  • Magicians Are Wizards: Played with, Marvin mostly deals in the usual fake tricks but his invisbilty one is real, as he uses a potion he was taught to make.
  • Picture Day: It's Class Photo Day at one point, which is a bit awkward with Frankie still invisible at that point. He tries to put on clothes so he can at least be in the picture somewhere, but the clothes become invisible too.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Frankie goes through with his plan despite Eduardo's warnings about it, and it naturally bites him in the butt. Then in the end he tries revenge on the others after they seem to backstab him but they drink it after Frankie has become visible again.
  • Shout-Out: The title is a reference to the ending of the Goosebumps movie.
    • The school is known as Han Solo Middle School, named after Han Solo from Star Wars.
  • With Friends Like These...: There's Ari but even the others don't kick out him when he finally reveals he sabotaged Frankie in the opening. Frankie is so broken by seeing this that he plans revenge on them although it backfires.
