Literature / Jane the Killer: The Real Story

Go To

Jane The Killer: The Real Story is a spinoff of Jeff The Killer (2011) and Jane's Letter written by Pastastalker64. It stars Jane Arkensaw, a neighbor of Jeffery Woods.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Name Change:
    • Jane's surname is Arkensaw not Richardson.
    • Jane's parents are Isabelle and Greg not Paula and Bruce.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Jane Arkensaw was Jeff's neighbor who knew him before he was a killer, unlike Richardson who never knew him until he killed her parents.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Jane Arkensaw is not a lesbian like Richardson, having a crush on Jeff before he kills her friends and parents.
  • Adaptational Ugliness: Jane Arkensaw covers her burnt face with a white mask, unlike Richardson who is not disfigured.
  • Cop Hater: Jane's father is an ex-cop who now hates them, as he was framed for stealing drugs and was forced to leave. He enforces a strict "no cop" policy. The Arkensaw family leaving the area when the police arrive is why Jane is not able to speak on Jeff and Liu's behalf.
  • Early Adaptation Weirdness: The story was designed as a follow up to Jane's Letter which established nothing about Jane except her being a killer with a grudge against Jeff.
  • Fighting Back Is Wrong: Jane watches the confrontation between Jeff and Randy at the bus stop. Her reaction to Jeff beating up the school bully is to consider him a monstrous person hiding an inner evil.
  • Gossip Evolution: Jane hears rumors about Jeff and Liu's fight with Randy, Troy, and Keith such as "Liu cut off Keith's arm!", "Liu hit Troy so hard in the stomach that he ralphed up blood!", and "he punched Randy so hard in nose that it came out the back of his head!", given the Liu went to jail for said fight.
  • Perspective Flip: The first half of the story is Jeff The Killer (2011) from Jane's perspective.
  • White Mask of Doom: Jane covers her face with a white mask after Jeff burns it, and she swears to hunt down and kill Jeff. If Jane's Letter is canon, Jane killed two people just to taunt Jeff.
