Cryptocracy is a serialized novel, originally posted online on the Cryptocracy tumblr. The author, Dan Sabato, began publishing Cryptocracy in 2015, and the work is still ongoing. Cryptocracy focuses on two female soldiers, Baltimore and Beam, who are stationed on an asteroid in the year 2523. Their lives change drastically after they meet Ariadne, the leader of a mysterious group of pirates. Batilmore and Beam find themselves pulled into a world of piracy, conspiracy, and adventure.
Cryptocracy contains examples of:
- Amazon Brigade: Ariande's group of pirates, "Ariande's Angels", consists almost entirely of teenage girls.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": The cook on Ariadne's ship is named Cookie.
- Hide Your Lesbians: Inverted with Baltimore and Beam
- Just Like Robin Hood: Ariadne and her crew steal from the rich and immediately distribute the goods amongst the poor.
- Space Pirates: Ariande's crew are this. They steal from bad people, though.
- World of Action Girls: The entire main cast is an assortment of highly capable female characters.
