Heartwarming / Zorua Trainer

Go To

  • Delia took in a poor homeless Pokémon, raising him with so much love that he considers her his mother.
  • Ash ends up joining in on Professor Oak's Pokémon camp solely because Serena was hurt and needed his help. Pokémon or not, he's still Ash, and that comes with a heart of gold.
  • Turns out, Surge's tough guy persona is just an act to motivate trainers to work that much harder to beat him. He even seems somewhat proud of how Ash takes his loss without complaint, accurately noting that he'll most likely win the rematch.
  • When Ash breaks down, feeling like he is an abusive trainer for getting his team hurt during training, they reassure him that's not the case as his Pokémon still chose to join and train with him, and that they trust him. Misty even tells Ash that he's really is a good person (or Pokémon), and mentioned that since she first met him, her perspective on Pokémon and the world around her changed.
  • Brock takes the time to comfort Karen after she calls her father for the first time in years, letting her know both that he understands what it's like to have poor relationships with a parental figure, and that he's always available if she need someone to talk to.She finds herself incredibly touched.
  • Before the fight with Blaine, Eevee is contemplating what she wants to evolve into. Having no particular bias for any one form, she instead focuses on what the team needs in terms of coverage, with Umbreon being the most logical option. While talking about what the requirements are for such an evolution she nearly evolves into Espeon by accident simply because she gets so caught up in what an amazing trainer and friend Ash is. As a result, she finds herself extremely upset she nearly locked herself into an evolution she didn't want, leading Pikachu to give her Sunny's old everstone necklace to avoid any more accidents. Later, the night after his crushing loss to Blaine and his Mega Camerupt, Ash is sulking in the training yard they've been using at Blaine's inn. Eevee comes to him, reassures him that he's an incredible trainer, and snaps off the necklace, instantly evolving into Umbreon. She tells him that they will find the strength to beat Blaine and win the league. Together. It's an incredible showing of not only just how much Ash means to his Pokemon, but also how much they in turn mean to him.
  • Blaine himself. He treats Ash as no different than any other trainer, even complimenting him on his work ethic and connection with his pokemon (although he does joke that Ash has a bit of an advantage.) But he also knows that Ash isn't yet strong enough to compete in the league, and he wouldn't be doing his job if he were to allow the Zorua to win. The resulting Mega Evolution powered beatdown isn't out of any kind of malice. Like Lt. Surge before him, Blaine is just trying to give Ash the push he needs to truly achieve his goals. His speech after the battle even implies that he's rather upset by just how badly Kanto has fallen, taking it upon himself to bolster the region by making sure its trainers are up to snuff.
  • After an attack by Storm fills the arena with steam, Blaine makes sure to warn the spectators about how dangerous it is and direct them out of the arena.
  • Delia gets multiple Rocket grunts to quit by showing them kindness.
