General

  • Both Bubonic and Tyrannia genuinely love their pets, if not each other (though they CAN be civil, when they want).
  • Mr Maggot, an inspector from Hell, is shown to be a loving husband to his wife, who is NOT an evil person. He and his wife also love Maurizio and Jacob and take very good care of them in "Life with Maggot".

By episode

  • "Colorless Chaos": Jacob snaps Maurizio out of his depression and saves him from getting himself hit by a car.
  • "Off the Walls": Jacob hugs Maurizio after the latter comes back to life.
Jacob: You are one brave knight, Maurizio. Your ancestors would be proud.
  • "The Wild Wild Pets": Maurizio calls an unconscious Jacob his hero after Jacob rescues him.
  • "Lost Spell": Maurizio and Jacob's hug.
  • "Night of Wishes": Jacob and Maurizio get into a huge fight when they first meet. They land in Bubonic's laboratory and realize that all of the fighting and insults have gone nowhere. Maurizio clutches his tail, sobbing, and begs Jacob for forgiveness, which leads Jacob to apologize.
  • "Gloom With a View": As weird as it sounds, Bubonic and Tyrannia show concern for Maggot when he shows up at Bubonic's villa in a catatonic state.
  • "Vanity Spell": Oakfoot comes up and licks the face of a little boy rescued by Jacob.
  • "Drop Me a Line": Jacob confesses to Maurizio a rough childhood memory: when he was a chick, he was always last in line to be fed, and beats himself up for always being last in line. Maurizio snaps him out of his despair by telling him it's not his fault. Jacob immediately feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders.
  • "Two Cute": Jacob and Maurizio make up with each other.
Maurizio: Jacob, at least we tried. And as long as we're gonna be stuck together, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for all the stuff I said earlier today. You're not excess baggage. Not even close.
Jacob: Oh, all right. I didn't mean to imply you were helpless without my superior leadership. In fact, my leadership was anything but superior today.
A tear falls from Maurizio's eye. A tear falls from Jacob's eye, too.
Jacob: I'm... well, how can I say this? I'm sorry, too, my friend.
  • "Perchance to Dream - Not": Maurizio standing up to the dog knight from his nightmare when he sees that it has a grip around Jacob's throat. This saves Jacob and causes the knight to disappear.
  • "The War of the Sexes": Due to the time running very short, Maurizio feigns aggression towards Kelly (apparently unaffected by the spell, for whatever reason), so that her father will see it and feel the urge to protect his little girl. It works – and ends up breaking the spell.
Maurizio (moved to tears): We did it! We did it, Jacob!
Jacob: Yes, your faith in fatherly love saved the city, Maurizio.
