Heartwarming / Village of the Damned (1995)

• The scene where David is visiting the grave of the stillborn, becoming the first of his race to suffer pain and loss. It is later stated that the stillborn was a girl, who would have partnered with David for breeding. Dr. Alan Chaffee comforts David, and sympathizes with him since Dr. Chaffee himself had lost a loved one. At this point David becomes more human than the other cuckoos, as he can understand others' pain, having suffered himself.
  • It's implied he consciously remembers the stillborn and maybe had a telepathic connection to her, which would make his loss much less abstract and very personal.
    "She was to be with me. We were to be together."
