Heartwarming / The Bob's Burgers Movie

Go To

  • Though it's setting up a smash cut, the "Sunny Side Up Summer" sequence is nice to see. The entire family is gearing up to face their fears, and thanks to Linda's optimism, everyone is ready to try. Even Louise, who's clearly the most nervous about facing her problems, joins the triumphant chorus insisting that she could do it.
    • While it's rougher than they imagined, and the wins aren't quite as definitive as they want, every member of the Belcher family succeeds at their dream by the end of the movie.
  • Teddy creating a cart for Bob and Linda to use to sell burgers at the Wharf. Despite the odds being against them, he's with them until the end.
  • The origin of Louise's hat: They were inspired by the pink knit cap worn by Bob's late mother and were knitted for Louise as a reward for being brave during her first day at preschool.
    • Bob and Linda reassuring Louise that her hat isn't what makes her brave; she always was.
    • Seeing Bob's late mother for the first time via flashback. The same flashback also depicts Bob as a toddler, and he is absolutely adorable.
    • More than that, the bunny ears are basically a way for Bob to feel like his mother is still with them, in one way or another. It's quite possible that Louise reminds him of her, and that may be another reason why they made them.
Bob: You remind me of my Mom, Louise. And with the hat, it's like you two met. I keep forgetting you never have.
  • And in this same scene, the entire family reaffirming their love for each other is very nice. Louise chimes in as well, and doesn't even say her statement is just between them, like in the "Wharf Horse" two-parter in Season 4.
  • When Linda loses her optimism while being buried alive, Bob decides to be positive for once. It's not for nothing; he manages to save them all.
    • Bob later uses this positivity to give Gene a pep-talk at the end of the movie when Gene is nervous about performing.
  • After the Belchers save his life and exonerate him of murder, the normally self-centered Calvin averts Ungrateful Bastard by paying off the Belchers' loan in full, saving their restaurant.
  • It's revealed at the end that Jimmy Jr. found Tina's barrette-necklace on the beach and kept it because it reminded him of her. After that, Tina gets the Big Damn Kiss she's been hoping for.
  • Gene gets to perform at Wonder Wharf at the end of the film. While only his parents and Teddy watch, he gets a standing ovation.
  • Mr. Frond's genuine concern for Louise when her hat falls off after doing the dead man's drop. She's fine, but it's still nice to see.
    • Him also saying he's proud of her. Considering Frond is usually a self-centered jerkass, seeing a kinder side to him is a breath of fresh air.
    • A minor one goes to Ms. LaBonz screaming at Frond "SHE'S GOOD" to get him to back off of Louise a bit.
  • A small moment, but when the Belcher kids find Calvin and Felix hiding out together, Louise makes them do a group hug so she can tell them her plan without being overheard.
Tina: (while they're all hugging) This feels nice.
Gene: Yeah, we should do this more often.
Louise: Okay, yeah, but save the restaurant, remember?
  • After the Belchers get rescued from the car thanks to Teddy, Bob orders Teddy to call the police and for Linda and the kids to wait while he goes to save the Fischoeders. However, Teddy and his family don't hesitate for one second before running to catch up with him to help, showing they stick together until the end.
