• In its own twisted way, Gilbert Gottfried's telling of it after 9/11, when a lot of comedians just didn't know how to handle the tragedy of the moment and what was and wasn't allowable. By openly performing one of the nastiest re-tellings of the Aristocrats joke, Gottfried was letting them know it was okay to be funny again, to cross whatever lines needed crossing again.
