• Optimus valiantly defending John against impossible odds, knowing that he was probably not going to make it, but still going in anyway, because he loved John as if he was his own son. And ultimately, he made the ultimate sacrifice.
• Combining both Tear Jerker and this trope, Samus Aran's death scene is very heartfelt, the last tender words between a fan favourite couple, with Samus trying to calm the Lone Wanderer...who stammers constantly in disbelief and in return promises that everything is going to be better.
