Heartwarming / Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob

Go To

  • King Arthur picks all the Knights of the Round Table to represent him in the tournament for the kingship, leaving Shaggy no champions to select. Fred volunteers to fight for him.
  • When Fred is preparing for the tournament, he asks Daphne and Scooby how he looks. Daphne tells him he looks like her Knight in Shining Armor and gives him a kiss on the cheek, causing him to blush.
  • After Daphne has to take Fred's place as Shaggy's champion, Fred tells her that she's his knight in shining armor and gets the crowd cheering for her. He even attaches his ascot to her lance for good luck during the final round of the tournament, in a gender inversion of The Lady's Favor.
  • The rescue of Shaggy from Morgan Le Fay:
    • When Shaggy gets kidnapped, Scooby looks towards the distance, crying. Fred puts a hand on his shoulder and reassures him that they'll go after Morgan and save Shaggy from her.
    • When King Arthur waves off the suggestion that he help the gang rescue Shaggy in favor of hoagies, Scooby demands how he can think of food at such a terrible time. Fred steps in and adds that even Scooby knows that everything comes second to helping a friend who's in trouble.
    • Arthur realizing that Shaggy really is the closest thing he has to a friend comes off as sweet, and it's heightened when he remains behind to ensure Shaggy can make it across the drawbridge during their escape from Morgan's Keep. It almost results in him dying. Even after the reveal that the whole "Camelot" plot was faked, Winston Pilkinshire (Arthur's actor) says that him coming to like Shaggy wasn't.
