He's Okay
The film is epic but it is also emotional. It tells us a story about facing your fears and about a boy and his pup.
  • At the beginning of the movie, we see a family of turtles crossing the street. One of the baby turtles stays behind and is almost hit by a truck. She manages to hide in her shell and Gus (the truck driver) manages to stop and save the turtle. After the rescue, Chase and Ryder come across the same turtle and return her with her family on the beach. It doesn't matter if the problem is big or small, Ryder and the pups are ready to help.
  • Chase and Ryder's backstory. As a little puppy, Chase had been abandoned by his previous owner in the huge Adventure City. He was alone and he was very scared, and just when a car was going to run him over... Ryder saved him. Ryder took him to Adventure Bay, giving him family, friends, and a very important job. On top of that, Chase also found the best owner, leader, and friend any puppy could wish for.
  • Arriving at the pound, Harris, one of the dogs kidnapped by Mayor Humdinger, gives Chase a warm welcome even though they are not in the best condition. From the beginning, he shows concern for the puppy due to his sadness, defends him against Delores's inappropriate comments, and even tells him to pick out a doghouse while they're trapped.
  • Liberty manages to get Mayor Humdinger's henchmen to catch her and take her to where Chase and the other dogs of the city are. When she finds the pup, Chase tells her that she shouldn't have come because now they're both trapped, but Liberty tells him that even though she's just a stray, she wants to make a difference just like he does.
    • At this point, Chase is still depressed about failing Ryder, the team, and the people of Adventure City, and no longer believes that he is a hero. But Liberty gives him encouragement:
Chase: I used to think I was a hero, but it turns out I’m just scared.
Liberty: So who cares if you’re scared? Heroes get scared all the time.
    Chase: They do?
Liberty: Of course they do, but even though they’re scared, they push through and keep going. That’s what makes them heroes.
  • After rescuing Chase from the pound, Ryder takes him to the street where he met him. At first, Chase seems annoyed that he reminds him of his painful past in Adventure City when he was just a puppy, but Ryder tells him that it's much more than that, that it's also a great place. The boy tells the puppy that even though he was too young for the big city, Chase decided to get up and move on. He never adopted him out of pity, he adopted him because that day... Ryder met the bravest puppy he had ever seen.
Ryder: I know Adventure City has been tough for you, but I also know that deep down you were born to be a hero.
  • Later, to save Mayor Humdinger from his insane plans, the tower at Humdinger Height falls, with Ryder inside, trapping him. Chase sees when this happens and is horrified to see his friend in danger. Without thinking twice, Chase gets in his car and runs to save him. Thanks to his motorcycle, he manages to climb the building, but when he follows Ryder's light, he runs into a cliff. He tries to use his grappling hook to get to the other end, but the wind blows the wire and Chase almost falls into the void but manages to hold on. Chase begins to lose hope that he can save Ryder, and at that moment he remembers the words that his owner said to him and the reason why he chose him, that gives Chase enough courage to jump and get to Ryder.
Ryder: I chose you because you were the bravest pup I'd ever seen.
    • After finding Ryder, both are happy to see each other, Chase reminds him that he can always count on him. As they try to leave, Ryder tells him that he's stuck, Chase tries to help him, but the first try doesn't seem to work. Chase, willing to save Ryder, tells him to give it another try. With teamwork, Ryder makes it out, then he and Chase share a hug.
    Ryder: You did it!
    Chase: We did it.
Ryder: I told you you were a hero.
    • After the storm, the rest of the pups see Ryder and Chase leave the building and can't hide their joy that their friend is safe
  • Liberty's dream is to be an official member of the PAW Patrol, and what happens near the climax of the film? Ryder gives her uniform and vehicle so she can help rescue from the storm, and despite telling herself to remain composed she ends up in a fangirl rant before fainting. And at the end of said movie, Ryder gives Liberty her own Pup-Tag, becoming an official member of the team. Dreams come true.
  • In just a few days, Ryder and the pups earn the love and respect of all of Adventure City. At the end of the movie, they are handed the key to the city and many locals gather in a ceremony honoring the PAW Patrol, for going beyond duty and saving the city from Mayor Humdinger. In addition to the key, the PAW Patrol already has a very special place in the heart of Adventure City.
