Heartwarming / Orphan

• Admit it, nearly all of Esther's initial interactions with her new family come across as really sweet. Can be one hell of a Tear Jerker when you consider the family's happiness and obliviousness to what's coming.
• Kate's bedtime story for Max.
• Even though it all goes downhill very fast, Esther's teary "She would have been lucky, you're a great mommy" is very sweet.
• Daniel comforts Max and tells her that it's going to be okay when he asks her about everything Esther did and where she hid the evidence.
• From the script in the scene where Esther sets up the plate of snacks and gets dressed up, it has a few creepy undertones but it still heartwarming from Esther's point of view.
  Esther: "I'm sorry, sir. I just want to be as pretty for you as she is."
  John: "You don't need makeup to be pretty."
  Esther is touched. She gazes up at him, lovingly.
  Esther: "You really mean that, don't you?"
