Heartwarming / Mashle: Magic and Muscles

Go To

  • The resume of Mash’s actions spring from a simple desire to have him and his grandfather live in peace and with everyone’s respect.
  • Mash does not hesitate for one second to save his grandfather from his attackers.
  • Mash saved his grandfather as a baby. Regro was going to commit suicide when he heard the infant Mash crying. He took him in and became his grandfather, the two thus saving each other.
  • Dot Barrett, despite his hotheaded nature getting him mocked by Silva and Lauren, is defended by Mash. He repays the favour eventually and becomes his friend.
  • Mash bonds with Abyss Razor, who like him is shunned by the community for his magic-nullifying eye, and when Razor is attacked his priority is to get him to a hospital, no matter what/who stands in his way.
  • When Dot, Lemon, and Finn learn of Mash's inability to use magic, they don't judge him for lying to them. Instead, they immediately try to keep it a secret from the rest of the school. While it doesn't last long, it truly shows how loyal Mash's friends are to him.
  • After word of Mash's lack of magic gets out, a student mocks him and points out that anyone protecting a non-magic may be expelled. Said student is knocked down by Lance (as Mash's friends reconfirm their friendship), and then later "visited" by former enemy Abel who (along with Abyss and Love Cute) were having a tea party with Mash.
  • Although the laws of the world states that non-magics should be terminated and are enforced by the Divine Visionaries, headmaster Wahlberg prostates himself claiming that Mash has the power to sway hearts. In addition, vice director Bless Minister, who had called for Mash's termination, also vouches for Mash after the student saved his life even knowing that he may be punished for defending Mash. It is these acts rather than Mash's "magical alternatives" that convince the Divine Visionaries not to terminate him for now.
  • Mash hanging out with friends for the entire day made him have fun with other people for the first time and wishes to do so more often in the future.
  • When Mash visits his grandfather during a break, his friends Finn, Lemon, Dot and Lance also accompany him. His grandfather is astonished but also pleased at how many friends Mash has made.
  • The finale has Lance bringing his sister Anna to visit Mash. He’d been fighting for her sake, and his rewards pay off with her receiving stronger medical treatment and becoming well.
  • At the end of the story, a few antagonists are actually leading better lives and aren’t giving trouble: Cell War has become a milkman, Doom is in prison but holds out hope to become a baker, and Silva Iron appears to be romantically involved with Lauren Cabasse and the two are helping out younger students.
