  • "Simple Man". A beautiful song about a mother giving advice to her children. Advising them to live life as best they can and not be caught up in petty things.
  • "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew". While the town at large in the song seemed to regard Curtis as a useless old wino, the protagonist thinks he's the coolest bluesman he ever met.
People said you were useless, but them people all were fools.
'cause Curtis Lowe was the finest picker to ever play the blues
  • Also crossed with Tear Jerker: After the devastating plane crash, Neil Young performed "Sweet Home Alabama" - which mocked Young by name for his anti-racist song "Southern Man" - in honor of the ones who died. Young was actually good friends with the band, especially front-man Ronnie Van Zant.
