Heartwarming / Lupin (2021)

Go To

  • The flashbacks of Assane's father, who was a true gentleman and taught his son how to read, triggering his thirst for Arsène Lupin literature.
    • Then Assane encourages his own son Raoul to read them. It works, and the boy even drops playing video games as a result.
  • Assane's overjoyed reaction to Claire telling him about her pregnancy. It's hard not to be moved by her tearing up while he whoops and shouts to the entire restaurant that he's going to be a father.
  • Despite being separated, Assane and Claire have remained the most amicable of exes. One feels like it would need very few things to bring them back together.
  • Assane bonding with the infirmary nurse in prison, even though it's all part of his plan to gather informations about his father.
  • Assane making good on his promise to make the dying inmate's wife smile, by dropping a diamond in her home.
  • Assane and Raoul hugging it out after Assane rescues Raoul from Hubert Pellegrini and his men, and Raoul telling Assane that he wants him to continue with his revenge quest. Assane is clearly over the moon that his son actually approves of his actions.
  • The obvious wave of happiness and relief that washes over Claire when she sees that Raoul is safe. Downplayed somewhat in that it's immediately followed by her having to fix her mistake of betraying Assane, but still—for a few happy moments, Assane gets to contentedly observe as Claire dashes out of her apartment and covers their son in joyful hugs and kisses.
  • Benjamin trying to get Assane psyched up for their "last dance" at the fundraising concert.
  • The showrunners seem invested in depicting every possible variant of Big Damn Reunion between Assane, Claire, and Raoul—and it tugs at the heartstrings each time.
  • Assane bringing Guédira to his hideout. Guédira has exactly the reaction you'd expect from an Arsène Lupin fanboy.
  • Claire's Tears of Joy upon finding out that Assane is actually still alive.
