Volume 1

    Sonnie's Edge
  • Both Wes and Ivrina defending Sonnie when Dicko keeps insisting that she take a dive.
  • Sonnie offering to Jennifer come with her and her team. Sonnie hardly knows this woman who works for Dicko but opens up her home to her.

    Three Robots
  • The titular Three Robots appear to be a very close group of friends. Seeing them just go about enjoying the sights of a post-apocalyptic world, cracking jokes over the skeletal remains of the once human race, is strangely heartwarming. Humanity lives on through them, in a way.

    Suits
  • All of the families.
    • Hank and Beth are just the sweetest couple.
    • Jake and Helen are so goofy and dysfunctional. You can tell how much they love each other in each jab they take at each other.
    • Really the whole community is just so obviously packed to the brim of neighborly love. Despite how much Hank gripes about Jake's scarecrow he still treats Jake with nothing but respect and politeness. Not to mention the lengths Hank, Jake, and Mel are willing to go to protect the other families just proves how close their community is.
  • As Helen is grieving over the loss of Jake, Beth sends Hank over to give her a kind word. He doesn't go into a long speech or anything, he just tells her the truth: Jake died a hero. Then Mel comes over to give her a friendly nudge.
    • And due to the role Jake's awful scarecrow served in defending the farms, Hank finally warms up to the eyesore.

    Beyond The Aquila Rift
  • Thom and "Greta's" relationship, though we don't know how many times "Greta" has had to reset things, the few moments we are shown are touching and sweet. Regardless of their authenticity, Thom takes a lot of much-needed comfort out of their moments together.
  • Given that "Greta" could have done whatever she wishes with Thom while he's unconscious, and let Thom remembers nothing of his real situation, she may have been completely honest when she said she does care for him and all those "lost souls" she has found lost in space.

    Good Hunting
  • Liang and Yan's relationship, especially since Yan never blamed Liang for the death of her mother by his father's sword. It feels nice to hear the other side of the story of monster hunting, and eventually, how a form of magic manages to return to the world to exact its revenge on those that stole it away.

    The Dump
  • What seems like a typical monster short instead has the old man take sympathy on the monster upon finding out that its core is just a poor innocent dog that mistook his friend for food. Watching him then play with said monster is strangely cute...for a giant blob of trash.

    Fish Night
  • The Old Man initially puts the car breaking down on the Young Man, but after a while apologizes and says he knows it wasn't his fault.

    Lucky 13
  • When Lucky 13 fails to self-destruct, Colby realises her ship doesn't want to go. What follows is a case of severe Mama Bear as she stands up firing her pistol at a whole squad of enemy troopers, screaming at them to "Get the fuck off my ship!". It then immediately explodes and takes them all out before she's gunned down, suggesting it performed a Heroic Sacrifice to save her.
  • The Lucky 13 gained its reputation as a vessel whose entire crew died twice. Every once in a while, we see an onscreen camera scanning the people aboard, suggesting the deaths were caused by the machine's malice. However, under Cutter, the ship flies several missions with no casualties and the crew becomes fond of it. So the ship ended up earning its nickname because of Cutter's love for it.

    Zima Blue
  • The Reveal that the titular Zima Blue was actually the color of the tiles in the pool that the little robot cleaned before it became the painter.
    • The end of the short, in which Zima sheds all of the upgrades he'd attained over the centuries and reverts to that same little robot, as he sought the simple pleasures of life. With the key difference that he'd left just enough of his intellect so that he can truly appreciate that simple pleasure instead of fretting over what he should do next.

    The Secret War
  • The Soviet rookie playing a balalaika to comfort one of his wounded comrades.
    • Immediately after, the huge machine gunner covering for him in the face of the lieutenant's anger.
  • The soldiers calmly accepting their fate and pulling a Last Stand just so the rookie can get away and Bring News Back. They barely even exchange any words about it, just give each other knowing nods.
    • The rookie actually refuses to be sent away. He would rather die alongside his platoon than leaving without them, mainly because the Lieutenant is his father. A soldier has to physically take him to the horse for him to go.
  • The balalaika music being played in the bombing montage at the end. It makes you feel almost like the rookie is commemorating his fallen comrades.

Volume 2

    Automated Customer Service
  • The customer service tells the old woman that her best chance of survival is throwing her dog at the vacubot. While clearly terrified, she still ultimately refuses to do it.

    Ice
  • The two brothers walking home, talking about how amazing the whales were, their relationship clearly much improved now that Sedge has gotten to prove that he can step up when it counts.
    • Fletcher's relationship with Sedge. Despite the fact he's Modded, he defends Fletcher when the rest of the teens tease him, steals Sedge's hat back when one of them takes it and, showing his trust in his brother, fakes an injury when on the ice so Sedge can prove himself. At the end, it's clear that the usually moody Sedge understands and appreciates it.

    Pop Squad
  • This one actually has a few moments, despite being one of the darkest episodes of the series.
    • Briggs having a conscience about what he has done compared to the others who have also remained alive for centuries, even refusing his lover's advances after her "booster" because of his guilt.
    • Briggs follows a young woman who bought toys from an antique shop who turns out to be a breeder all the way back to her home. When he sees her and her daughter, the mother immediately takes her daughter up protectively in her arms. Rather than shooting the girl, Briggs simply asks why she does it and she reveals, at 218 years old, she does not narcissistic ally love herself enough to live forever and for her daughter, everything seems bright and new as she breastfeeds her and then the two watch the child play on the floor.
    • A minor one, but when the little girl, Melanie, approaches the table, Briggs gently moves the gun back from the edge as she reaches up, out of her reach so she can't hurt herself.
    • While Melanie plays and approaches, Melanie reaches for Briggs, wanting his hat and to play and her mother tells him he wants to put it on his head. Briggs, smiling for the first time, leans down to let her. Unfortunately, the mother goes for the gun and Briggs overpowers her before preparing to do his job as Melanie bawls. However, the mother begs him to not do it and to shoot her and spare Melanie. Briggs can't bring himself to do it and leaves them be.
    • Outside the mother's place, Briggs sees his partner. When the two hear Melanie crying inside, there's just a moment, then both immediately pull their guns, striking each other with a Mutual Kill. However, while his partner dies bleeding out from her throat in pain, Briggs steps out into the rain, letting the water wash over his face, glad that he did the right thing before he dies, at peace.

    All Through the House
  • We are introduced to Love Death+Robots' version of Santa Claus in this short, and while horrifying and monstrous in appearance, he is still undeniably a friend to good children, giving the two children exactly what they wanted and then telling them to stay good with an affectionate head pat. For all the horror of his appearance and the disgusting nature by which he delivers presents, it is very clear that at his core he retains the most important qualities of Santa Claus: A being who loves children and rewards good little boys and girls with presents. Despite appearing as a grotesque monster, his heart is still exactly where it should be. Monstrous or not, he's still Santa Claus.

    The Drowned Giant
  • The local scientist seems to be the only one who treats the giant with any respect, and feels bad when it's getting chopped up. Lastly, he's the only one to remember what he looked like, as opposed to everyone else forgetting.

Volume 3

    Three Robots: Exit Strategies
  • Despite their usual derision of humanity as the worst, the three robots are genuinely ecstatic with the idea that some humans managed to survive their extinction.
XBOT-4000, taking his hat off: All right then! Good on you, humans.

     Bad Travelling
  • Torrin, despite being the former captain's second in command, continually uses diplomacy rather than force to deal with things, first allowing the drawing of straws for who goes below to face the Thanopod, later making a secret ballot so people can choose whether to go to the deserted island or take the shorter route to go to the populous Phaiden Island.
    • Torrin's actions during the episode. No matter the people against him or the attempts on his life, he refuses to inflict the Thanopod on hundreds of innocent civilians, even destroying the ship and its cargo with the Thanopod and its offspring inside when it finally reaches the deserted island he had originally chosen.
    • Torrin's second vote, on whether to save their own lives like cowards or proceed to the deserted island, makes it clear that he knows how EVERY crewmate but him voted to sacrifice the innocents to the creature's hunger. Despite this, he does everything to save the islanders, even killing his treacherous crew.
    Mason's Rats
  • The short ultimately ends on a happy note, as Mason makes peace with the rats, and spends the rest of the day sharing in the rats' homemade booze.
