- Jiu Chen starts out a Perpetual Frowner and literal Ice King. When Ling Xi arrives, he gradually warms up to her and shows he does actually have a sense of humour. He even endures her explosive experiments without complaining, and (somewhat reluctantly) accepts the medicine she made for him.
