Heartwarming / Harvey

Go To

  • Pretty much anything Elwood says to Ms. Kelly, but especially, "When you wear my flower, you make it beautiful."
  • Myrtle Mae and Mr. Wilson are so cute together. They're not perfect but every time they're together you just want to say "awww".
  • Elwood talking about the first time he met Harvey.
    • And shortly before, talking about people entering the bar to talk to him about their problems and their wrongs and seeing Harvey, it all seems small in comparison.
Elwood: Harvey and I sit in bars and play the jukebox. Soon the faces of the other people turn toward mine and smile. They're saying, "We don't know your name, mister, but you're a lovely fellow." Harvey and I warm ourselves in all these golden moments. We have entered as strangers... and soon we have friends. They talk to us. They tell about the terrible things they have done. The big, wonderful things they will do. Their hopes, their regrets, their loves, their hates. All large, because nobody ever brings anything small into a bar. And then I introduce them to Harvey. And he is bigger and grander than anything they can offer me. When they leave, they leave impressed. These same people seldom come back because they’ve told what they need to tell, and they've seen a little bit of a miracle. They no longer have a need to go back to a bar again.
  • Elwood's entire persona. He seems odd to others (especially to Vita's high society friends and his niece), but he's just so polite, so genuine that everyone finds something to like about him.
  • Vita deciding, she prefers Elwood the way he is.
    • In a way, Harvey stealing Vita's purse so she needs to ask for Elwood to pay the cab driver (which leads to the cab driver's speech on how Elwood would change thanks to the shot, making Vita desperately stop the treatment). And all so he wouldn't lose his friend.
  • Harvey's decision at the end. The last lines of the movie are the most heartwarming.
Elwood: Well, thank you Harvey! I prefer you too.
