Heartwarming / Franklin Lost Episode: Otter's Sickness

Go To

  • Otter apologizing to Franklin after the latter called her out for not telling him about her fatal disease, and Franklin forgiving her.
Franklin: Otter, I just want to say that I'm sorry about yelling at you like that earlier.
Otter: It's OK, Franklin. I deserve it for lying to you like that. You were right. That's not what friends do to each other. I just... I just didn't know how to say it. I just... I knew you were coming over and I... I didn't want to ruin our weekend, so I... I hid it. I just... I didn't want you to be sad or any... (Starts crying)
    (Franklin hugs Otter)
Otter: I'm so sorry, Franklin! I really am! It's OK if you hate me now! I understand! Why would you want to be best friends with a person... a friend who lies to you!?
Franklin: (Allows his face to rest on Otter's muzzle) Otter, I would never hate you. Yes, I was upset that you lied, but... I understand now. I don't blame you for keeping it a secret either. I just... (Starts choking up) I just... I just don't want to lose you! You're one of my best friends! You were one of my first best friends before I met Bear! And the idea of losing you... it hurts! I mean, it hurt enough when you had to move, but... to sit there and never see you again... for something like this to... to hurt you! I couldn't live like that! I love you, Otter! More than anything else in this world! And to see you so sick... and about... I'm not even gonna say it! You're not going to die, Otter! I'm not gonna allow it!
Otter: But, Franklin, what about what the Doctor said?
Franklin: My mom told me that miracles come in many shapes and sizes! And I'm gonna do everything that I possibly can to make sure that you get that miracle! Starting with making this weekend the best weekend of your life! I love you so much, Otter, and I don't want to ruin our weekend together! I don't!
  • The last scene of the episode where everyone is having a party to celebrate the disappearance of Otter's disease. Franklin goes to speak to Otter:
Franklin: I'm so glad you beat it, Otter!
Otter: Well, like you said, Franklin, miracles come in many shapes and sizes. And you were that miracle. (Kisses Franklin's nose)
