Unmarked Spoilers Below!

  • Ron's relationship with Terry, specifically beginning with, "Tower of Terry". Ron's emotional detachment (and overall ditziness) has prevented him from truly connecting with Terry or establishing any ounce of respect. In Terry's greatest moment of need however, Ron is able to talk him down from opening the dimensional portal by opening up about his own insecurities. He gives Terry a rather tender story about Ron's constant search for approval from his own father, Willy, and how it only caused him more pain. He ends the conversation by directly telling Terry he loves him, and that is enough for Terry to calm himself down.
    • It takes another step further once the Dads (and Terry) take a trip into Ron's memories. Although their relationship has greatly improved from where it started, Terry makes it clear that he's still hurt from some of Ron's actions (specifically the, "who's your daddy now" line). After witnessing Ron's childhood, and seeing Willy Stampler attempting to murder 8-year old Ron, he makes a clear effort to comfort Ron, showing that he's now come to care and love Ron, if not as a father, at least as a friend.
  • Episode 48, "Carry on My Wayward Son." Despite the Dad's best efforts, the gavel comes down, and Glenn is forced to decide his own fate. In one of the only moments of Glenn showing unfiltered kindness and care, he decides to erase himself as Nick Jr.'s father. He does this in order to spare Nick the pain of loosing another parent figure, instead hoping that Nick will be happier with a new father.

  • Concerning Willy and Ron, the effort the fathers make during the tense conversation with Willy in episode 60 highlights their level of friendship. Each of the fathers makes an effort to defend Ron and stand up for him, even after Willy displays the ability to kill them with a single word. Henry, in tears, reminds Ron that he is more than the abuse Ron has gone through, and that he's not alone facing his father.

  • Although it's played entirely for laughs, Doug the Intern's parents are constantly kind and gracious towards the Dads, and are a rather rare example of normal, loving parents in the Forgotten Realms.

  • After seeing Walter get paralyzed, Lark begins to resent Henry, blaming him for not allowing him and Sparrow to have the Gauntlets of Strength. Although he spends most of the episode angrily lashing out at Henry, the sight of the Mechanical Crab (in the possession of his grandmother)brings him right back to being an excited, happily adventurous young boy. It's described that on the return trip back to camp, the entire family rides the Crab back, putting their conflict aside for a short while to have fun.
