Heartwarming / Angel of the Bat

• Even though they have a wide range of different views on Christianity, the bat-family is always respectful and careful to give Cassandra a proper view of where her exploration of faith might lead her.
  • Tim in particular is careful to say that we all see this differently, so we're going to share perspective, but let you see it how you wish.
• A recurring theme through the first 3rd of the story is how Cassandra's search for answers ends up causing her sidekick brethren to reevaluate their beliefs more positively as well. Discipling alongside her, admitting they still believe, or coming to a better understanding of the word.
• Cassandra learning about the resurrection of Jesus. And how there can be so great a love even for someone like her.
• Cass's 2nd prayer was... uneasy at first, but as she's praying, she notices she's a bit warmer than she originally believed after saying she needed more warmth. So, she drifts off from her prayer "almost floating" in surprised contentment.
• Regardless of your beliefs, there's something extremely breathtaking and beautiful in Cassandra's conversion vision during The Adoration.
  • The way she begins to walk on water alongside Jesus is eerie, but still awesome.
  • Cass drawing upon her experiences of "flying" around Gotham to experience traveling the sky through a kaleidoscope of colors which Jesus helps to form.
  • Jesus comforting Cassandra as she faces her original regret of killing a man, and for the first time ever, she felt the burden lift and know that it cannot truly define her.
• By his own admission, MJTR feared some of his readers may react negatively to the revelation the story was explicitly written to be LGBT-friendly and that Cassandra ultimately ended up in a relationship with another woman. Going by story's reviews, readers not only took it well, but it proved to be one of the most engaging twists in the plot.
