Heartwarming / A Supe of a Man

Go To

  • The Kents are able to remain Good Parents to Clark in spite of the corruption and decadence around them. Even Maeve is moved by seeing parents who don't use their Supe child as a cash cow.
  • When Clark met Annie for the first time, they click in joy and Annie being able to loosen up with a supe who doesn't take the business too seriously.
  • The night Clark meets Lois is presented in a fun and wholesome way: Clark immediately sees that Lois isn't a career-obsessed Vought bootlicker, and encourages her to turn their meeting into an actual interview rather than a PR approved puff-piece. Lois herself notices that Clark repeatedly goes out of his way to make her feel comfortable, safe, and respected (especially considering Vought forced her to wear very revealing clothing for the evening). Basically it became an impromptu date, which they both ended up enjoying, and it jump-started their relationship.
  • Although it doesn't last too long, Homelander and Clark initially have a surprisingly warm friendship. Homelander is genuinely impressed with Clark's intelligence and is happy to meet a Supe he can relate to regarding their "living in a world of cardboard".
  • Clark manages to give Maggie a glimmer of hope and courage in working together to save Flight 77. Giving everyone joy that their heroes saved them unlike in Canon.
  • Despite the pain of failing to save his father, Clark has a bit of levity and sincerity at his funeral. That he knew Johnathan would be put off by all the pomp around his funeral, griping to let him sleep. But on a more serious note, says that he learned all he needed to know about serving others from his Pa, and he'll never forget him.
  • Clark is the one to give the "bowling" speech to Annie in this world. Saying that she helped save him, and that's worth just as much as being able be in the Seven.
  • Superman mentoring Ryan on how to use his powers. That it's not about forcing it out, but letting it come out naturally.
  • Clark ends up hiding Becca and Ryan at the Kent Farm, the safest place he knows, to help them lay low.
  • The talk between Clark and Ryan about With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, particularly when Clark affirms that even if Ryan needs to learn control, that doesn't mean he has to become a public hero like Clark or Homelander if he doesn't want to.
    • Becca sees in the talk the father Ryan deserves, and just gives him a quiet "Thank you."
  • All the visitors are sympathetic to Wonder Woman and how Vought got her husband lynched.
  • Though a bit shaky at first, Ryan quickly embraces the joys of flying once he starts to get the hang of it.
  • With her respect of Superman and desire to protect Elena, Maeve comes to Clark offering her help in joining the anti-Homelander alliance slowly growing.
  • While Kara Zor-El wakes up confused about everyone around her, knocking down her actual cousin by not realizing how much time has passed, when she finds Ryan, her expression becomes "filled with love", showing that no matter what her true alignment is, she wholeheartedly was ready to meet her cousin.
  • In a way, Lucy and Lois's argument to decide what to do with Clark's baby after finding out he's an alien. Lucy wants to get it out so it doesn't harm her sister, and Lois is adamant that she wants to keep the baby.
  • When everyone had to split up on different missions, Hughie decided to call in a favor to see if she'd be willing to help on their infiltration mission to help Clark. When he next appears, Diana Prince has returned to help in the search. No matter her own fears and pain, knowing that Clark needed help meant that she jumped back into fighting the good fight.
  • The birth of Lois and Clark's baby daughter. Despite the surprise of it happening, by the time she's born, both the parents are happy to see their little Half-Human Hybrid.
