Headscratchers / The Shepherd's Crown

• What happened to Lancre's native Feegle clan? They were the first Feegles introduced in the story, Jeanie and those she brought with her are actually from there, and they had a notably more literate culture which she's been trying to promote in the Chalk clan. It seems unlikely you'd be able to keep them away from a fairyland invasion, but they aren't even mentioned.
  • Presumably because those Feegles would detract from the humans' Curb-Stomp Battle.
• Where are the Dwarves? The kingdom of Copperhead is right next door to Lancre and there are weeks of early raids before the main invasion. Dwarves have earlier been established to be immune to glamour (probably because they always wear iron armor) and have a much more accurate idea of what elves are like than most humans. Again, it seems like they'd show up even if not invited.
  • Presumably because those Dwarves wouldn't allow the elves to leave, and would undercut the humans in order to ensure their deaths.
  • Perhaps the Copperhead dwarves decided to hunker down and see if the elf invasion blew over?
