• Even if the weather satellite hadn't gone haywire, would the scientists fake alien plan even have a chance of working? As we see in the episode, the Thetan is easily killed by a simple hunting rifle, so what chance would it have had if it landed right near the White House and faced up against security? Did they expect its mere presence to cause a scare that a full blown Alien Invasion would come, and not assume that the government would try to study the Thetan's corpse or its mock up spaceship, which would run the risk of it being revealed as a charade?
