Headscratchers / The Institute

• How do the kids light those cigarettes they get from the vending machines? The implication is that they must have access to matches or lighters, but it seems like a huge security oversight to give the kids something they can start fires with. And, sure, maybe security is slipshod enough to allow that, but then why do the kids never consider trying to set the Institute and/or the surrounding woods on fire? Even if they can't burn the whole thing down, creating a big enough blaze is probably their best way of drawing attention from the outside world.
