- Everyone in Kazalumu (teachers, students, servants) knows that Elin has a special bond with Leelan and that she can control Royal Beasts without using the Silent Whistle. They decided to keep it secret so Elin would not be used as a political tool. My question is: how the hell did they manage to keep this secret for so long? Elin spends several years in Kazalumu. There are dozens of people who knew from the beginning. Then there are new students coming in every year, maybe some new teachers or new staff. One excited child babbling to their parents about this one cool teacher who can command Royal Beasts would be enough. Or a student who wants to brag about their friend. Or maybe someone who is actually concerned that Elin is breaking the Royal Beast Canon. There should be at least rumor flying around by the time Elin outs herself before the Yojeh Halumiya.
