  • Is there any reason why Michelangelo hallucinates the ghosts of his brothers but not of Splinter and Casey Jones? Their deaths also affected him a lot. What's more, if he believed that April was dead before her daughter took him to her home, shouldn't he have hallucinated her ghost as well?
    • Assuming they were really hallucinations...
    • The visions of his brothers are rather harsh towards him. It's possible he wouldn't picture Splinter or their friends being as harsh towards him. If they are hallucinations, they seem to mostly be a reflection of his survivor's guilt, and personally I can't picture Splinter being that hard on him or putting that kind of blame on him.
      • Spinter did admit in Lost Years that he trained Mikey and his brothers for the purpose of vengeance so him being that hard on him does fall into the realm of possibility.
  • Following the Foot Clan's ambush that ends with Splinter heavily wounded and the bombing of Casey's apartment, Raphael goes after Karai, accusing her of killing his father. The two fight and their duel ends with Raph dead and Karai left comatose for life. The thing is that Splinter is later seen alive after this, given how he later goes to Japan along with Donatello for "peace talks" with Hiroto after Leonardo's death, and Leo died after Raph, so if Splinter survived the injuries Karai inflicted on him, why did Raphael accuse her of killing him? His anger makes it seem like if Karai had really killed his father.
    • Raph, as he is wont to do, jumped the gun and didn't actually wait to see if Splinter died before rushing off for a fight. Maybe if he had, he wouldn't have run off and got himself killed.
  • How did exactly Karai end up in a coma? During her fight with Raphael, Raphael is never shown as hitting her head that severely. Did she have a stroke? A brain infection? Those are the most common causes of strokes, along with alcohol poisoning and diabetes, but which of all these was the one?
    • Frankly, I wouldn't put it past Hiroto to put her in a coma himself. Maybe he got fed up with her or decided he didn't want to wait for her to give him leadership and took matters into his own hands.
    • It could also be that she suffered oxygen deprivation from being forced underwater for too long during the fight with Raphael; keep in mind that the turtles are generally shown to have various physical enhancements, including an increased ability to remain underwater longer than the average human.
  • Why does Oroku Hiroto claim that he killed all the mutants if, as far as the readers can see, Raphael was killed by Hiroto's mother Karai and Leonardo was killed by Baxter Stockman when his building exploded? The only mutants Hiroto killed, or rather, had killed, were Donatello and Splinter.
    • He's an egotistical prick that likes to take credit for other peoples' deeds.
    • He could have meant that he "killed all the mutants (that were still alive when I rose to power)", not literally every mutant ever.
  • After Hiroto kills the comatose Karai, Mikey notes that, unlike Hiroto, Karai had some honor. How exactly is Karai honorable if she broke the truce established between the Hamato Clan and the Foot Clan? It was because of her breaking the truce that the chain reaction which caused the deaths of his brothers and foster father began.
    • Perhaps he's referencing the fact that there was a truce to begin with, which that shows that she at least HAD honor at some point in the past.
    • "More honorable than Hiroto" isn't exactly a high bar to clear.
    • And who's to say that Karai was the one who broke the truce? Given available information, it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that the young Hiroto was able to provoke the new conflict by encouraging certain Foot soldiers to break the truce for him by attacking some of their fellows and making it look like the turtles did it, allowing Hiroto to let his mother and the turtles wipe each other out before he stepped in to take power himself.
