  • So... why was Onion allowed on the roller coaster in "Guidance?" It's hard to believe that he actually met the height requirement as established in "Too Short to Ride."
    • Perhaps Mr. Smiley is too afraid of Onion to not allow him to do whatever he wants, considering Onion has been known to run around his amusement park with fire.
    • Since he wasn't visible on the roller coaster when Smokey rescued everyone, it's likely that he just swam out in the ocean and sat on the floating roller coaster. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing he's done.
  • Was "Volleyball" the first time Volley had ever tried to get her eye healed? Where was she for two years, and why did she wait so long? Did she simply not know that Steven had healing powers? She obviously has talked to him at least once, and it's likely that someone told her everything she had missed out on. Did she not know if he could heal it?
    • You have to factor in the adjustment period. Gems in general don't know how to be independent and pursue their own wants and this is a Pearl on top of that, she's not used to even thinking of herself as a person let alone one whose wants are valid. Plus there's the time gap to get her caught up on, she's spent 8000 years under White's control and missed the end of era one, the entire Crystal Gem Rebellion, Pink's shattering, and the entire rest of Era Two. That it only took two years to get this far is amazing.
  • It's two years after the finale of the previous series, yet Onion hasn't grown at all, and he still doesn't talk. Are all those theories of him not being human true after all?
    • While that would be amusing, there is a myriad of likely explanations.
      • One is that, like Steven was thought to be before it was revealed his physical appearance and age are influenced by his emotional state, he's just a late bloomer.
      • Another is just that he's naturally short.
      • A third, more depressing option is that Onion has some form of Growth Hormone Deficiency in a similar vein to Andy Milonakis Syndrome. Meaning he likely will look like that permanently.
    • Onion is just... Onion.
    • According to Sugar, this question went deliberately unanswered, as she wanted there to still be some mysteries left when the show ended.
  • Where are people getting the notion that Steven Universe will corrupt from his trauma, woes, etc? After all, neither humans nor Gems corrupt from any of those and Steven has not shown any attributes that are from neither his human half nor Gem half!
    • People are predicting he'll turn into the dragon/worm monster from the intro due to his suffering. And since the only time in the show that gems turned into monsters was when they got corrupted by the Diamonds, they're using the same term.
      • The fact that Steven did end up corrupting from his trauma.
      • Actually, it seemed more like he became a monster because he thought he was one, kind of like when he aged because he thought he was getting too old.
      • It's more complicated than that. Everytime he shapeshifted, whether intentionally or not, he was at least aware of what's happening to him, like that time he turned into a blob of cat heads and asked Greg for help. This time, after he turned into a Godzilla-like monster, he reacted like a Corrupted Gems would act, like, you know, attacking everyone he saw as a threath, and being scared and confused.
  • "Everything's Fine" reveals that the gems didn't know about Steven shattering Jasper until he told them about it. Except... wasn't Jasper with them when Steven left for Homeworld? Why didn't they press her for details about where Steven had been for three days?
    • It's Jasper. Just because she respects Steven now doesn't mean she's gonna play nice with his friends. Even if she did tell them they were training together, she might not have wanted to admit to being shattered - she probably just let them think he had poofed and/or cracked her.
  • The fact that Connie doesn't yell "WTF are you thinking?!" when Steven asks her to marry him means they're already a couple. Is there a reason they never act like it? The most physical affection we see them show each other is hugs and one kiss on the cheek. This would chalk up to a No Hugging, No Kissing policy because of demographics and standards Blah, Blah, Blah, except that isn't the case with this franchise at all. The show has no qualms about showing other couples like Greg and Rose, Pearl and Rose, or Ruby and Sapphire being passionately physically into each other, so why not Steven and his girlfriend?
    • To be fair, Connie didn't even physically show up until about halfway through SU Future. She is a college student after all. When she was there, Steven was in a bad state of mind, and after "Together Forever", didn't even want to talk to her. He really only started becoming balanced enough to properly engage in their relationship by the time "The Future" rolled around, were we did see Steven and Connie kiss mouth to mouth.
      • Connie isn't a college student, she's only studying for it (as the first episode explained). Moreover, she is at most 15, more likely 14: Canonically, she is two (well, one and a quarter) years younger than Steven, who is himself canonically 16 by SU:Future. This is the real reason we haven't seen any real affection between the two until the end: she (and he, for that matter) are underage. The feeling it's also why she turned down his marriage proposal: getting married at 14 is definitely moving too fast, and not exactly legal either. That said, it also fits Connie's character. She's shy and reserved; that kiss on the cheek in The Movie was a big milestone for her. And with Connie stuck in cram school, the rest of your point still stands.
    • The law seems to be different in the world of Steven Universe, given that Steven is allowed to cross the country at the end of the show and find a place to live without adult supervision. For all we know, it could be perfectly legal to get married at their age, but Connie doesn’t want to move so fast since she has other stuff to do. As for the physical affection, Connie and Steven are both still minors, and more overt kissing between them might be a bit more squicky to most people. After all, watching minors kiss is quite a bit different than seeing two adults (or adult like figures, like the gems) kiss. We see really chaste kisses, which likely highlights the Puppy Love aspect of their relationship.
    • That would make sense, if not for Lars and Sadie — a teenaged couple (Lars at least was still in high school in SU and both still lived with their parents) whom we're allowed to know are obviously sleeping together, and then there's that scene in "Island Adventure"... Those two were never even "together" but were sometimes implied and sometimes shown being passionately, physically into each other, but not the Official Couple when they're older teenagers.
  • There's the impression from "Gem Harvest" that Greg left his family and never looked back. "Mr. Universe" gives the impression he truly hated his parents and wanted nothing to do with them, the way he insists Steven is better off without them in his life. So why did he write to them so many times? Pretty sure there are many psychological reasons for saving letters you never opened - why would his parents likely have saved his letters without reading them?
    • He may not completely hate them. It's shown he does resent them for the childhood he had but it's also shown they didn't want to do anything with his music or his career beyond that. It's very likely that while Greg and his parents still care about each other, Greg doesn't feel comfortable enough to go talk to them face to face and confront them (like Steven does to him) and his parents may be restraining themselves from reading Greg's letters because while they still care enough about their son to keep them, it might be just as hard for them to move on and acknowledge any news Greg would bring them through those letters.
    • Its also likely that he tried to contact them after he left home, as it’s possible he didn’t really want to cut them off completely, but never received any messages back for whatever reason and justifiably assumed they didn’t want to talk to him. As for the parents, their reason is left up in the air.
  • Why didn't Yellow Diamond try to fix "Pink Diamond" after she got shattered? Even if she didn't know she had the ability to do so, wouldn't the Diamonds have tried something either way?
    • Fix Pink Diamond from what? The gem shards Pink swallowed were fake. Trying to mend them wouldn't have done anything because they weren't real. Besides, in order to heal a shattered Gem, you need every piece of the gemstone, and they wouldn't have been able to find every shard of Pink Diamond's gem because there was no shattered gem. Pink faked the whole thing.
