• Alright, so, first headscratcher. The question here is why almost every female character has at least some form of fanservice. Almost all of them - even Tira, whose personality completely changes in her bondage outfit
  • Two answers:
    • 1. EVERYONE in Bakuretsu Hunters is fanservice on some level, the anime doesn't play into it as much but there's just as many hot dudes in this series as hot girls, they just get a bit outclassed by all the bondage stuff 'cause Sex Sells. The main character is a notorious horndog, of course there'd be plenty of hot girls in a story that focuses on him.
    • 2. In-universe... it's a secret technique taught to Tira and Chocolate by Apricot. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a Madonna-Whore Complex element to it, but the core idea is that a girl can maintain a softer, friendly image in her private life by restricting all danger and combat to a separate battle persona that only emerges when needed. In the manga, Carrot gives Chocolate her hat, saying it belonged to his grandfather, and from then on, she'll only be scary when wearing it; Apricot takes that to its logical extreme by having a totally separate commando form.
