* How strong are the Commandos? I know it's nitpicky and pedantic, but I've wondered this since I was a kid — what exactly are the toys physically capable of? It only takes three(?) Commandos to tackle Timmy to the ground, then the scene transitions and he' restrained. How did they subdue a struggling victim purely on their own? Later on we see he's in the downstairs closet, how did they move him all that way? After that with Christy, she's struggling on the floor in one scene, then tied to a chair in the next — how was she moved into the chair and then re-restrained? Obviously the real answer is "to progress the plot," but I always wondered what we're supposed to believe in-universe.

*** As previously discussed, production was rushed and the storyline wasn't properly established to give both sides a truly detailed "history" with each other.

* The toys are all powered by Lithium-based batteries. Keeping in mind that Lithium is extremely flammable, why doesn't Chip Hazard completely explode when Alan puts him between the terminals on the power pole?

** Chip actually states exactly why this is. "Nick Nitro's battery has run out". The damage he received caused his battery to get damaged and he "died" because his battery ran out.

It seems that's right, from the Character

** This is explained in the movie. Bill Mars' assistant tells Larry and Irwin that he wants the Gorgonite and Commando Elite toylines ready for sale in three months, and Irwin tries tell her that it takes six months in part because of product testing, but Larry assures her that three months is fine. In other words, production was rushed and corners were cut as a result.

** That kind is a weird point in itself. The whole point of the programming was to allow the toys to essentially play back or at least let the kids watch them battle. Why in the world would you program your villains to literally do nothing but hide?

*** The optimistic answer is that the Commandos were in such a rush to activate more troops and collect more equipment, they just didn't have time to activate the Gorgonites. They may have just torn apart the still un-activated toys and that was enough. So no additional Gorgonites ever had to "die".

*** After their ordeal in the movie, they decided to stop buy her those dolls. And probably tell their relatives not to give her those dolls as presents either.

** She probably loved them as a little girl and now that she's older is going through the phase of swearing off anything childish. She appears to be quite tomboyish - she listens to Led Zeppelin, drives a motorcycle and smiles happily when Alan says she's NotLikeOtherGirls. So she may feel ashamed to have a girly streak to her (it was the 90s and many girls were rejecting femininity in favor of grunge etc) but they're GuiltyPleasures.

*** They aren't "military grade", they're jury-rigged from stuff they stole from Fimple and Abernathy's garages. Their most powerful weapon launches burning tennis balls.

*** This is confirmed in a deleted scene: Irwin attributes the fact that the Commandos are attacking humans to "[[BlackAndWhiteInsanity extreme binary thinking]]": [[WithUsOrAgainstUs if you're not a Commando [you're a Gorgonite]]]".

** Considering the production was rushed, they didn't have time to program anything like a real reason for the Commandos to hate the Gorgonites. This is supported by the fact that the Gorgonites are not programed to be anything like the villains of a Saturday cartoon, and still keeps their personality of being peaceful explorers

** The Gorgonites ''were'' re-purposed as the Commando Elite's enemies, and while Irwin was able to sneak in their original backstory and personality, he might not have been able to do so for their names -- they would, after all, be visible on their packaging.

** They are capable of learning, so they would recognize there mission is done and figure out what the next logical step is, for the Gorgonites it's to live in their new home, for the Commandos it would be to continue to "protect" humanity, likely attempting to destroy some new "alien threat" (pretty much any non-human looking toys).
** Don't know that "protecting humanity" was a factor in their programming (though "'''EVERYTHING else is just a toy'''" was). And considering how quick the Commandos were to consider humans tangentially related to the Gorgonites as enemy combatants (even ''shooting Timmy in the face'' before he has a chance to "declare his allegiance"), any kid with a beloved teddy bear or furby might be at risk in that scenario.
