• At the beginning of the film, there is no indication Noel has any familiarity with the Gavrilacs, and he has certainly never met Aline before. But we later discover that his father and Aline's father were great friends, enough that the Count de Gavrilac was willing to put his reputation on the line to cover up a major indiscretion of the late Marquis. Why was Noel not already familiar with the House of Gavrilac?
