Headscratchers / Pete and Pete S2 E5 "Time Tunnel"

If Big Pete had Endless Mike's car why didn't He or Mike pick Ellen up to go to the drive in? Big Pete can't even drive yet so the only reason He needs the car is so He can park in the drive in theater. It is not very gentlemanly for Big Pete to have Ellen walk to her own date. I guess I can just chalk up to "Pete and Pete" logic.
