Headscratchers / Padak

  • Why did Padak forgive the Master? Wasn't she mad at him not long ago for presumably killing Spotty?
    • It's possible that the song might have been entirely symbolic and what happened was that the other fishes explained to Padak what actually happened or the Master himself did.
      • It's just kind of weird the animator didn't add an extra scene to fill that plot hole, otherwise it looks like Padak had just developed Stockholm Syndrome.

  • Why is Padak's skin looks clean when being served on a plate? Didn't the King Crabs claw her?
    • Presumably the chef somewhat cleaned her skin up before serving her, or we simply saw the bits of skin that weren't all mauled. That or the detail was left out for budget reasons.

  • How come there are a huge stock of flatfish and the pupiless fish species? Shouldn't there be more mackerel, sea bass, snapper, eel, etc?
    • Flatfish are very popular choices for fish farms and restaurants, whereas the others are not as easy to cultivate. Perhaps there was a higher demand for flatfish there.

  • Since the Master was able to escape, I don't actually see the problem why the others would have trouble to do the same?
    • While he did indeed escape, he struggled a lot and it was risky. He had to crawl outside the tank (as you know, fish can't survive long without water and are not made to move on the surface) and humans are hard to escape from. If he didn't have swallowed the toy sword, he would've been caught again. It's also possible that the humans won't keep any tanks outside anymore so that fish won't be able to escape again.
