Headscratchers / My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission

Go To

  • With the obvious exception of "for the movie", why are all the Japanese heroes helping in other countries? Surely America, France etc have more than enough heroes to take out the bases in their own countries that they don't need help from other nations?
    • Maybe since All Might was considered the strongest Pro not just in Japan, but on a global scale, his words carry weight when it comes to Heroics in general. He's there in the World Heroes HQ as an advisor the whole movie, so this troper assumes that he would have spoken to the other organizers and gotten the capable Pro Heroes and the U.A. students they had in their work studies to come along.
    • Another theory is that, because the Trigger drug that hyper-enhances Quirks has, as far as we know, been a problem for the Japanese heroes (shown in the Vigilantes spin-off), that might have been a contributing factor to having Heroes who have dealt with the drug and its effects beforehand, helping out in case of something like a Trigger bomb threat worldwide.
    • This is actually partially explained in the film. When the various Hero teams are on route to attack the Humarise bases, one of the directors briefs them on their mission and says that they are deliberately not asking local authorities for help as much as possible in order to maintain the element of surprise. Which makes sense as the whole point of the attacks at the beginning was to try and take out the entirety of Humarise and their Trigger bombs in one fell swoop. The various Humarise branches were most likely keeping tabs on the movement and activities of the local heroes and police, so any irregularity that would have resulted from them helping the assault would be quickly noticed, giving them advanced warning that something was up.
  • After crossing the Despair Event Horizon due to his Quirk stopping him from receiving affection from others, Flect Turn attempted suicide, which failed because his Quirk protected him from whatever he tried. This may be morbid, but if he truly wished to end his life, wouldn't he have used a method that doesn't involve physical trauma, such as poisoning or suffocation?
    • It might have even been during such an attempt that he came across the Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory, and so, radicalized by the worst-case scenario present in the theory, Flect decided that he would die in a "more glorious fashion", that is removing the plague of Quirks including his own to free the world up for the Quirkless "true humans".
  • How would Trigger gas kill people with quirks like Erasure, Anivoice, or Brainwashing? Couldn’t Aizawa just keep his eyes closed and Koda and Shinso just need to avoid talking. Or would the gas force them to do it? Did Humarise not consider this or did they have a backup plan?
